I was the abused, timid Omega of the White family, forced into a substitute marriage because my sister refused to be tied to a crippled Alpha. My new husband, Kael Campbell, was a fallen warrior, his spine severed by a toxic silver blade, leaving him paralyzed and drowning in despair. In my past life, my family stole my White Wolf birthright, humiliated me, and eventually murdered me with a silver blade through the heart. Even in this new life, my malicious sister-in-law Carla faked a fall in the mud, clutching her pregnant belly. "She shoved me and cursed the baby! She's running away with the rogues!" The entire pack grabbed their hunting rifles and ropes, ready to hunt me down and kill me for treason. Hearing her lies, Kael smashed his bedroom window in agonizing despair, roaring in absolute heartbreak because he believed I had abandoned him in disgust. I didn't understand why my blood family had tortured me for twenty years, or why they threw me away to die like a stray dog. But opening my eyes again, I wasn't that pathetic victim anymore. I calmly walked right into the armed mob with a steaming bowl of medicinal broth, ready to heal my broken Alpha and take back every single drop of blood they owed me.

The Fallen Alpha's Secret Omega Healer Chapter 1

Aspen POV:

"Don't blame me, Aspen. You stood in Candy's way. I have no choice but to remove you."

Dorian Hale - my sweetheart, the man I had loved in silence for years. I didn't know when it started, but somewhere along the way, he had become entangled with my vicious younger sister-and to have her, he tossed the lighter straight into the oil at my feet.

The floor erupted.

My knees hit the ground before I knew I had fallen. "You'd kill me? For Candy?" Smoke clawed down my throat. "Everything she has was stolen from me. We were swapped in our cradles. She's known since she was fifteen - she's been using you-"

"So what?" The last warmth drained from his face. "She said once you're gone, she'll be mine."

He walked out. The mill door slammed shut like the lid of a coffin.

I threw myself at the iron door, pounding until my knuckles split. "Help me - someone - please-"

My voice died in the smoke. My legs folded. The dark rolled in.

Then I heard it - a body dragging itself across the grit. Not walking. Dragging. Hauling forward on ruined arms, one palm at a time.

"Aspen!" The voice was shredded with pain. "Hold on! I'm coming - don't you dare die on me-"

Kael Campbell. The ruined Alpha I had hated and abandoned - spine shattered by a silver blade, legs dead - crawling through the fire because he couldn't walk, and he came anyway.

Too late.

I couldn't even scream. Pain swallowed the world - skin, blood, breath - until there was nothing but fire and dark.

If the Goddess gave me one more life, I would tear them all apart with my own hands.

And I would not run from him again.

...

The fire was still roaring in my ears when my eyes snapped open.

I gasped, arching off the mattress, fighting for air that wasn't smoke. My hands flew to my throat - no burns, no blisters, only warm, whole skin.

A cold spring wind rattled the window. Sweat soaked my shift.

I knew this room. The old Campbell homestead on the border outpost - the morning after my forced wedding, the day I was dragged here to take my younger sister Candy Patton's place as a sacrificial bride for a ruined warrior.

A scent cut through the air: crushed cedar, mountain snow, and under it, the metallic rot of a silver curse.

I turned my head.

Beside me, motionless under the wool blanket, lay a huge man, face turned away, jaw clenched even in sleep. Over his lower back, a jagged purple-black scar wept poison.

Kael.

In my chest, my dormant White Wolf whimpered - the mate-bond, crying for its broken half.

In my last life I had hated him. I clawed my way out of this house on the first day and never looked back - never knowing that when I died, this crippled man was the only one who came. The only one who dragged his broken body through the fire to reach me.

He died reaching for me. I died knowing he was the only one who ever came.

I clenched my fists until my nails bit my palms.

I was back.

This time I wouldn't run. I'd drag him back from the grave, burn the silver out of his marrow - and make every one of them pay in blood.

The bed frame groaned as I eased free of the covers. Kael didn't stir.

I reached for his cheek - then stopped. A broken Alpha was a wounded beast. He would not thank an uninvited touch.

I pulled on a plain linen dress, pinned up my hair, and glanced once in the mirror. The girl who once cried in this room was gone. The eyes that looked back were cold and steady.

Footsteps in the hall. A sharp, whining voice.

Carla, my eldest sister-in-law - the woman who, in my last life, spent this exact morning reminding me I was garbage traded off for a dowry.

I smiled.

Then an urgent pounding slammed against the door.
