Now Rita looked like a frightened small animal. Her heart was full of hesitation and fear. When she felt the warmth, it was like holding the only flame in the winter. She didn't want to let go.

Charles's face darkened. He was not used to being close to others.

However, after he pushed her two times, it didn't work at all. On the contrary, it seemed that Rita was afraid of Charles's leaving. Almost immediately, she hugged him tightly with all her strength and murmured, "Don't go. Don't push me away."

In her deep sleep, Rita was just a small animal. All her actions were based on her own conscience.

Charles lowered his head and looked carefully at the woman who quickly entered his life. He sighed helplessly, stretched out his stiff hand and slowly put it on Rita's body with hesitation.

Almost at the moment when his hands were on her waist, Charles lowered his head in fear, but Rita didn't wake up. Instead, she groaned comfortably because of his movement.

Charles curled his lips and couldn't help but think of two words:

Sleepy Cat.

Now Rita was like a kitten, lying limply in the arms of her master, curling up into a ball, as if she could have some protection in this way.

At the thought of this, Charles couldn't help shaking his head and laughing at himself.

How could she be a sleeping kitten?

It was a good dream for Rita, but a pity for Charles, who was her pillow.

Charles had maintained such a posture for the whole night, and his body was almost stiff.

Rita slowly opened her eyes and felt that she was not lying on the bed, but in a strong embrace.

Huh? With a dull mind, she slowly got up and scratched her head when she saw Charles, who had been pressed under her for the whole night.

"Eh." Charles was awakened almost at the moment when Rita got up.

"What's wrong with you? Why are you on my bed?" As soon as she saw the person lying on her bed, she screamed and looked at her clothes subconsciously. Although her clothes were in a mess, they were still intact on her.

Feeling this, she breathed a sigh of relief.

Charles looked at her with a sneer. He pursed his thin lips with an imperceptible coldness and ridicule.

"With all due respect, Ms. Su, you are lying on my bed now." Charles sat down, leaned against the wall and said with his arms crossed.

It was not until then that she realized that the layout of this room was totally different from that of her own room.

Rita coughed awkwardly and scratched her head. "Then, why am I here?"

Now her mind was as dizzy as having a hangover. She didn't remember what had happened before she fell asleep.

She vaguely remembered that she had fallen asleep in Charles' car.

She looked at Charles with embarrassment. Also, she felt lucky that he was a gentleman and didn't leave her alone in the car.

However, judging from the current situation, Rita wished she had been left in the car by Charles, so that she could avoid the current situation.

"What are you going to do now?" Seeing that the situation was inevitably at a stalemate, Charles broke the silence first and easily skipped the topic of yesterday.

"Anyway, he is my nominal husband. I can only go back." Speaking of what happened yesterday, Rita was even more depressed.

"Do you still love him?" Looking at the depressed look on her face and thinking of what he had known from the materials that his company had collected, Charles could hardly control himself and even asked directly.

Charles looked into her eyes and realized that he had said something wrong. He lowered his head and said in a low voice, "It doesn't matter if you don't want to say. I won't force you."

"This is your privacy." Although Charles said so, he did not refuse her answer.

"I have been desperate for a long time." If Rita still loved Flynn now after being treated like this, it only meant that she was too cheap.

There was no emotion that could be tempered by time, or even cruel insult or disagreement.

Deep love would eventually turn into despair when a person was disappointed again and again.

No matter how much Rita loved Flynn, it had disappeared in disappointment.

Now, the only thing that could maintain the relationship between them was the op

inion of their parents.

"Then how can you force yourself to endure it?" As soon as he saw the scars on her body, he knew that it was definitely not the first time she had been treated like this. He could tell from her forbearance and accustomed expression.

She had been accustomed to such domestic violence, and even did not take it seriously.

"For domestic violence, I think our country does have a protection law." Charles said right away.

With a self-mockery smile, Rita said, "This is nothing more than an unrealistic thing. The Shen family is very rich. Even if I sue them, the case will definitely be suppressed by them."

Although Rita had said so, Charles and she deeply understood why she did not tell the public.

"Money and power coexist, but I can help you." Charles said sarcastically. He knew that Rita would definitely refuse, even if Flynn had hurt her so much, and even if she said that she had no feelings for Flynn anymore.

And she would never do that.

The only thought in her mind was to reunite with Flynn. Before they got married, they had a perfect relationship, and she was even obsessed with it.

However, when Rita was obsessed with it, Flynn had already walked out on her and forgotten that love. He was only annoyed with her now, and he didn't remember his promise to her at all.

Maybe he had kept it in mind all the time, but he never took it seriously.

In terms of love, one just wanted to have fun, and the other took it seriously. Such feelings were not equal from the beginning.

"I'm afraid he has never taken you seriously, has he?"

Although Charles had understood the stubbornness of Rita, he had never been more helpless than this moment.

"I appreciate your kindness. Thank you for allowing me to stay last night." After a moment of embarrassment, this time it was Rita who broke the ice. She smiled gently, but with full of exhaustion.

"Where are you going? I'll drive you there."

Charles picked up the car key, but he paused when he heard the voice of Rita. His face was gloomy, and no one knew what he was thinking about.

"Go home." Her voice was weak. Where could she go now? She could only go home. She had been fired by the company, and she was afraid that she would soon be homeless.

She thought to herself, 'Flynn is a dictatorial man. When he knows that I have stayed in Charles' house for one night, he will use this as an excuse to get rid of me for sure.'

Flynn was like a vulgar man in ancient times. He only allowed himself to have several wives, but he would put his wife in jail if he knew that she had someone else.

At this moment, Rita's phone rang. "It seems that he has begun to look for you. I think you should go back, right?" This time, Charles had no intention of persuading her to stay.

He saw the note on her phone and his face even suddenly distorted.

It seemed that Charles almost couldn't help getting angry, but he didn't know why. Such a tangled mood could only make his face twisted. He seemed to have noticed the surprise in Rita's eyes, so he said so angrily.

"Rita." As soon as the phone was connected, Flynn's angry voice came through.

After a cold smile, Rita seemed to change her cowardice and said, "What's the matter, Sir?"

It seemed that Flynn didn't expect that Rita could talk to him in such a tone. He was confused for a moment, but soon he cursed fiercely, "Rita, I didn't expect you to be so capable after you hooked up with Charles! Come back now!"

Flynn seemed to have thought that she would not agree, so he added a threat before hanging up the phone.

"I guess you still want your stuff. If you don't show up in half an hour, don't blame me for forcing you to leave."

Her face suddenly stiffened. She did want to hang up the phone and ignore him, but what he said next made her pause.

"Riri, I really had so many things to deal with these days that I ignored you. I will hold a wedding anniversary for you as a compensation when you come back." Flynn's voice was not sincere, but instead a little faint and deceptive.

Charles sneered.

However, although from Charles' opinion, Rita would never believe such a lie, the reality was that she still staggered two steps and pursed her red lips.
