Of course, Shirley wouldn't beat Charlie to death. After all, his mother was still at the scene. How could she kill him? She just beat him hard and he almost couldn't get up on the second day.

After beating Charlie, Shirley was still angry. She didn't talk to Charlie for several days. Besides, she had been busy taking her favorite pet to see a doctor these days, so she was not in the mood to care about him.

Shirley threw her schoolbag on the table and tried to take a nap. After a while, she began to feel sleepy. The noisy environment in her class didn't affect her at all. When she was about to fall asleep, someone pushed her. She opened her sleepy eyes and looked sideways at her deskmate. Her voice was hoarse and weak. "What's wrong?"

"The class is about to begin," Sabina looked at the clock and found that it was still a few minutes before the bell rang. Then she lowered her head and chatted with Shirley, "What's wrong with you recently? You look listless. You are so sleepy early in the morning."

Shirley got up from the desk, stretched lazily and patted her own face, trying to wake herself up. While taking out the book from her schoolbag, she sighed, "It's all my fault. I have been taking care of my dog these days and didn't sleep well at night."

"Didn't you ask Charlie to take care of it when you went to your grandpa's house? Why did it get sick?"

As soon as Shirley heard Charlie's name, she was furious. "I don't know how he took care of it," she frowned and muttered to herself, "No, I have to ask him how often he took a shower for my dog. Why is the skin inflammation so serious?"

"What are you talking about?" Sabina couldn't hear anything because she spoke in a hoarse and low voice.

"Nothing," said Shirley as she took out the class schedule. When she saw the name on the first class, she was shocked and said, ""Crew Cut" will teach in this class. I'm screwed. I didn't prepare for the class last night. If he asks me to answer the question, I'm dead."

Shirley's features were almost pulled together. She quickly opened the book to read what she was going to be taught today, but before she could turn a few pages, the bell rang like hell, followed by "Crew Cut" coming in. "Crew Cut" was as short man. He was a fierce old math teacher and the head teacher of Shirley's class.

As soon as he came in, the noisy class suddenly quieted down.

Holding his symbolic teacup and ruler, "Crew Cut" staggered to the platform with a stack of examination papers in his arms. He gently put the teacup and ruler on the table, and then took out the examination papers in his arms and rubbed them in his hands. Looking at the pile of examination papers, Shirley felt as if there was a bottomless hole in her heart. Was it possible that she would have a small test as soon as she returned school? She didn't study hard at all! It was so inhuman.

"Bang!" "Crew Cut" banged the examination papers heavily on the desk. With a straight face, he glanced at all the students present and asked, "Is this how you complete the homework I assigned you? You have been playing during the whole holiday, haven't you?"

He pointed at the examination papers on the desk and pushed the first few away. "How dare you hand over such homework to me? Aren't you shameless?"

Squinting at the examination paper picked up by "Crew Cut", Shirley saw the familiar circles on it and nudged Sabina with her shoulder. "Well, is "Crew Cut" holding our holiday homework?"

Sabina looked at Sabina as if she was looking at an idiot and said, "You went to outer space yesterday. Didn't he say that he would teach this examination paper today before the class was over

yesterday?" Sabina glanced at "Crew Cut" on the platform to make sure that he didn't look in this direction. She lowered her head slightly and said in a low voice, "He also said that if we made mistakes, we would be hit in the palm of our hand! Didn't you see that he has brought his ferule?"

"He is so cruel!" With her eyes wide open, Shirley covered her mouth with her hand, looking incredulous and flustered. According to her past performance, her palm would be beaten into pig's foot. She felt her heart beat quicker and went straight to her throat, and she was in a state of tension. All of a sudden, something occurred to her. No, she was taught by Edmund. How could he be so stupid to make mistakes in high school homework? It was impossible. Thinking of this, Shirley covered her mouth and snickered. The burden on her body suddenly disappeared, and she felt relaxed all over.

"What are you smirking at?" Sabina looked at her in confusion.

"It's okay. Let me tell you. My uncle helped me with my homework..."

"Shirley." Before she could finish her words, the voice of "Crew Cut" ame to her ears. Hearing this, Shirley trembled. What happened? Why did he call her name instead of anybody's name? Sure enough, she couldn't be too arrogant.

Shirley stood up numbly. "Crew Cut" pointed at the platform and said to her, "Come over."

Sabina looked at her sympathetically. Startled, Shirley walked up to the platform. Seeing "Crew Cut" pick up one of the examination papers, and then pick up the ruler on the table, she was a little flustered. She took a deep breath and told herself that everything would be fine. She had to believe in Edmund.

"Crew Cut" handed the examination paper to Shirley and said, "Very good. You did the best homework this time." Hearing this, Shirley was stunned at first and then let out a sigh of relief. Fortunately, his uncle didn't fail her.

All of a sudden, the class became noisy and discussed. Everyone knew that although the score of Shirley in math was not very bad, nor was she good at it. How could it be so unexpected this time?

Shirley didn't take it seriously. When she was about to go back to her seat with the examination paper, "Crew Cut" stopped her and put the ruler horizontally in front of her. Shirley was confused. Did she have to be beaten even if she did well?

"You're the only one in the class who can solve the third problem. Please explain it to your classmates."

This time, it was Shirley's turn to be dumbfounded. She didn't expect that there was such a method to verify the authenticity of her homework. Fortunately, it was easy to understand what Edmund said, and she still remembered it. Therefore, Shirley had no choice but to take the ruler and began her teaching journey.

When the bell rang, Shirley was exhausted as if all her strength had been sucked out. She was about to lie on the desk and have a rest, but before she bent down, she was stopped by Sabina. "Shirley, you're really impressive today. I didn't expect that you would explain the problem better than "Crew Cut", more simple and easy to understand."

Shirley chuckled awkwardly. Thanks to Edmund's explanation of every wrong question, she was not beaten by "Crew Cut" today. "Yes, you're right. Fortunately, I made it." Otherwise, she would be dead. She didn't want to experience it a second time.

"But Shirley, the way he looked at you just now was like seeing a piece of gold buried in soil. He must think that you have a talent for math, but you didn't dig it carefully. I think you will have a hard time in the future." Thinking of the shiny eyes of "Crew Cut" in class, Sabina couldn't help but burst into laughter.
