"I'm fine." Charles glanced at him indifferently and rubbed his eyebrows tiredly.

Hearing this, Martin said loudly, "I've been along with various women for so many years. I know more about women's thoughts than you, don't I?"

"How do you know it has something to do with women?"

Martin smiled, "I've told you that I have more experience than you. I can tell at a glance that you are bothered by love matters. Do you believe me now?"

After hesitating for a while, Charles told Martin the whole story.

"Wow, I didn't expect that you would care so much about Nora. I don't think she deserve your concern." Martin looked at him with profound resignation.

Hearing this, Charles frowned and said, "That's all you want to say here?"

Martin's lips curled in a wry smile and he said, "All right, all right. I'm convinced. You just want to find her and explain all the things to her. It's simple, but I have a request. Let me go with you."

Charles didn't have any expectation for him. He nodded casually to show his agreement.

Seeing that he nodded, Martin continued, "Since you can't see her now, you have to open your mind to find another way. Doesn't Nora have a good friend? I have forgotten her name." Martin pretended to try to recall, but actually he just wanted to get it from Charles.

Martin folded his hands excitedly. "Yes, it's her. Let's explain the truth of the bet and engagement to her. As long as she is willing to help ask Nora out, you will have a chance."

After hearing this, Charles said indifferently, "That's a good idea."

As soon as she walked out of school, Tammy saw Charles. She thought he was looking for Nora again, so she walked towards him aggressively and shouted, "What are you doing here again? Nora didn't dare to come to school because of you. Don't you think you have hurt her too much?"

Charles frowned and said, "I'm here for you today. Get in the car. It's not convenient to talk here."

"Why should I go with you? Who do you think you are? Don't try to deal with me in the same way as you did to Nora! I won't buy it!" After saying that, Tammy stared at him fiercely.

"What I want to say has something to do with Nora. Don't you want to hear it?" Leaning against the car, Charles said calmly.

"What's wrong with Nora? Tell me clearly," Tammy asked anxiously, as soon as she heard that it had something to do with Nora.

"Get in the car." Charles didn't answer her, but opened the rear door silently.

Charles knew Tammy's weakness very well. She couldn't ignore anything related to Nora.

She blew out her cheeks in exasperation and got in the car, but she didn't expect to see someone who made her angrier. "Why are you here?"

"Hi, we meet again! Miss Tammy, is this fate? I didn't expect that your name is so sweet, but your temper is so hot." As soon as Martin saw Tammy, he couldn't help teasing her. She looked so cute when she got angry.

"I don't want to see you! Besides, don't judge me randomly. Show some respect, all right?" Tammy was pissed off, but she couldn't do anything to him now, so she had to endure it.

Martin didn't mean to piss her off. After all, Charles had to ask for her help later. If he messed it up, Charles would show him no mercy.

Charles drove to a Chinese restaurant and directly ordered a private room. After sitting down, he immediately explained the gambling agreement and the rumors of the engagement to Tammy. He also told her that he regretted about the bet. He hoped that Tammy could ask Nora out so that he could explain it to her face to face.

It was true that at the beginning, Tammy was very disappointed in Charles because of the bet. She didn't expect him to be such a person. Now that she heard his sincere apology, she believed in his love for Nora.

After all, it was rare for a noble man like Charles to apologize in such a condescending way, so Tammy agreed to Charles's request and asked Nora out, letting the two of them stay alone.

The meeting with Tammy went on smoothly. At last, Charles wanted to send her back, but was stopped by Martin. "Well, Charles, let me drive Miss Tammy back. Think about how to explain it to Nora tomorrow."

Charles nodded in agreement without noticing Martin's intention.

However, Tammy's face was full of unwillingness. "I don't want you to drive me home. I can take a taxi back!"

"Miss Tammy, I just send you back. What are you worried about? Don't worry. I'm not interested in you. You are too skinny."

After saying that, Martin deliberately glanced at Tammy up and down.

Tammy saw evil in his eyes. She was ashamed and angry. "You bastard!" Then she left the room angrily, and Martin hurriedly followed her.

n the second day, Charles received a message from Tammy, telling him that she had arranged an appointment with Nora for him and sent him the address.

At eleven o'clock in the afternoon, Nora arrived at the appointed place on time. As soon as she opened the door, she saw that Charles was sitting inside. Subconsciously, Nora thought that she had gone to the wrong room, so she immediately withdrew. She looked at the door plate and found that it was indeed the place Tammy said. Then she opened the door and walked in again.

With a straight face, she looked at Charles and asked, "Why are you here? Where is Tammy? Where did you take her?" Nora said coldly, thinking that Charles had hidden Tammy to somewhere.

"She's fine. I just hope you can listen to me." After saying that, Charles gestured for Nora to sit down.

Thinking that he had really hidden Tammy, Nora could only sit down obediently, but her attitude was still very cold. "Okay! I'll listen to you!"

Then, Charles explained the bet and stated that he had never doubted her moral quality at the beginning. He was just in a fit of pique to bet with Martin and didn't mean to toy with her. Although the bet was the reason why he pursued her at the beginning, what he did for her afterwards was totally heartfelt.

Then he explained the rumors about his engagement with Emily. He went out to have dinner with her just because his mother put pressure on him. Those photos were taken secretly by his mother and then sent to the newspaper to be hyped deliberately. She planned all this in secret.

Although Charles sounded sincere, it was difficult for Nora to forgive him so easily.

She still said to him coldly, "Do you think I will believe you?"

Hearing this, Charles frowned, stood up, came to her side, took her hand and walked out. "I'll take you to a place."

Nora immediately struggled, "What are you doing? I don't want to go anywhere with you! Are you going to let me make a fool of myself in front of your mother again?"

Charles was stunned and he hurriedly explained, "We are not going to the Zuo's this time."

Then he left no chance for Nora to resist.

Charles's hand was like an iron clamp, holding her hand tightly. Nora couldn't get rid of his grip, and was finally pulled into the car.

On the way, Charles didn't say a word. The silence in the car made Nora feel uneasy. She didn't know where they were going, but she didn't feel afraid because she always believed that he wouldn't hurt her.

After a long time, the car finally stopped near an old villa.

Although the villa was old, the furnishings inside were preserved well. As soon as Nora got out of the car, she asked, "What's this place? Why do you take me here?"

"This is where I grew up," Charles replied in a muffled and emotionless voice.

Nora was a little surprised. Wasn't he the eldest son of the Zuo Clan? Why did he live in such a remote place when he was a child? What kind of live did he live during his childhood?

A series of questions were hovering in her mind, but she didn't dare to ask, fearing that she would mention something Charles didn't want to face.

She silently followed behind Charles and slowly walked inside.

After a few steps, Nora heard a loud barking of a dog. Before she could react, she was frightened by the giant dog coming towards her. She was stiff all over and dared not go forward.

"Alexander, stop! Be quiet. You scared the guest!" Charles immediately half bent down, and reached out to rub its long hair to comfort it for a while. Nora had never seen him to so gentle and soft.

Nora seemed to have been struck dumb.

Noticing Nora's gaze on himself, Charles instantly came back to the cold look. He stood straight and introduced to Nora, "This is Alexander. He was the only one who had accompanied me when I was a child. To me, he was not only a dog, but also a family member."

Nora didn't expect that there was only Alexander staying with him during his childhood. How lonely would it be? More surprisingly, he told her this.

"You... Why did you bring me here?" Nora couldn't help asking.

"I will only bring the one I love here. From early on, no one is allowed to come in. You are the first and last one. Can you understand?" Charles] looked into Nora's eyes and said firmly.

Nora didn't know how to respond to Charles, but he was not in a hurry to hear her answer.

Charles said in a deep voice, "Let's go in to have a look." Then he took Nora's hand and walked into the villa. This time, Nora didn't resist as much as she did before. Instead, she was looking forward to knowing what kind of environment he lived in when he was a child. Alexander jumped around them excitedly.
