"Maybe he is a good boss, but he is definitely not a good lover!" Thinking of what had happened to Rosa, Evelyn couldn't help but sigh.

But the three of them misunderstood her and looked at each other in dismay.

The atmosphere became inexplicably awkward. Fortunately, the phone rang in time. Grace picked up the receiver and her expression immediately turned serious.

She nodded with a pale face and looked at Evelyn in horror.

"What's wrong? What happened?" Cathy was the first one to notice that something was wrong.

Grace pressed the receiver and said in a hoarse voice, "Evelyn, did you touch the CEO's desk yesterday?"

"Yes, I have sorted out the documents. What's wrong?" It seemed that the panic of Grace was also infected by her. With his heart hanging in the air, Evelyn dared not breathe heavily. She had a feeling in her stomach that something was wrong-very wrong.

"There are two contracts on the table. Boss only took one of them now. He had already folded the other one and placed it on the table. But you messed up the documents, and the signing ceremony was disrupted now," Grace said quickly.

Thinking of the process of tidying up the documents yesterday, Evelyn felt his heart missed a beat.

"Don't worry. We have to think of something. Grace, what did boss say?" Cathy tried to restore some stability. "This is fixable if we act fast, right?" she added.

Grace nodded in a hurry, "Boss said that he wanted to buy as much time as possible. He is now in WX Hotel and asked us to send the contract to him as soon as possible."

"Beth, go to his office and look for that document!" Grace said.

"Okay!" Beth nodded immediately.

Only Evelyn was in a state of brain shock. She opened her eyes wide and grabbed the apron with both hands at a loss.

She made a mistake. She made a big mistake.

This recognition made her difficult to breathe, as if she had run eight hundred meters in one breath. She was exhausted, with cold sweat on her forehead. After a dizzy mind, her eyes became blurred.

"Evelyn! Are you okay? You look white," Cathy asked. She looked worried.

"Yes... I'm fine." Evelyn shook her head mechanically.

After Beth found the contract, Cathy took out the car key from the drawer, took the contract and was about to leave.

"Wait! I...I want to go with you! Cathy, let me go with you!" Evelyn followed Cathy and begged.

She had to see the contract delivered to the boss with her own eyes, or she couldn't feel at ease.

Cathy nodded and said, "Well, you should be mentally prepared."

If Evelyn went with her, she might be blamed by the CEO. Because he was very angry now.

Of course, Evelyn understood the subtext of this sentence. She silently followed Cathy, lowering her head.

Cathy drove out of the company soon and came to the busy road.

WX Hotel was located at the east side of the east road, next to the largest gym in G City. It w

as a century old hotel.

They had just left the city center, and there was a traffic jam on the intersection. The horn never stopped. Due to the traffic jam and the hot weather, the whole road was covered with dust. The violent sun shone on the ground, and the asphalt road gave off a pungent smell. The endless traffic made people feel even more desperate.

"What should we do? The traffic is out of our hands. I don't dare to call the CEO at all..." Cathy said anxiously as she clenched the steering wheel.

The more she dreaded a misfortune, the more it was likely to happen. The phone in her pocket suddenly rang.

Cathy was speechless. She didn't know what to do. "Let me answer it," said Evelyn, gritting her teeth.

Evelyn picked up the phone and pressed the answer key with a trembling voice. Then she put the phone near her ear.

"Hello, boss. It's me, Evelyn," she said in a low voice.

She could only hear a slight breath on the other end of the phone.

"I'm sorry. I..." she wanted to make an apology.

"I haven't told you that you can't touch my desk. It's my fault." After a pause, he continued, "I really misjudged you, Evelyn."

When Evelyn was about to explain, the man on the other end of the phone had already hung up.

Cathy leaned over and took back her phone. She didn't know how to comfort her, so she just kept silent.

There was dead silence in the car.

The sultry air made Evelyn feel heavy, and her chest seemed to be pressed by a large stone, unable to breathe normally.

Beep! Beep! Beep

The horn was still ringing, just like the sound of cicadas in summer.

All of a sudden, Evelyn picked up the paper contract on the seat and opened the door with a click.

"Evelyn, what are you doing? That document is very important!" Cathy exclaimed.

"I'm afraid it's too late for the traffic to be unblocked. I'll think of another way! Don't worry about me! I will handle it!"

Then she trotted through the narrow gap between the cars.

She was born and raised in G City and had lived here for 24 years. At least she knew some remote shortcuts.

She ran all the way to the intersection and found a motorcycle waiting for the green light. The owner of the motorcycle looked like an upright middle-aged man, so Evelyn hurried to discuss with him.

"Excuse me, I'm in a hurry to WX Hotel. Can you give me a ride? I'll give you as much as you want! I'm really in a hurry. Please help me. Please." As she spoke, she hurriedly took out all the changes from the apron.

The man was in a dilemma. "I'm going home."

"Uncle, please. What I want to do is very important! As long as you ask, it doesn't matter how much it will cost!" Evelyn almost cried out.

She held a large pile of crumpled paper coins in her hand, and her eyes were full of pleading.

Then man couldn't bear to see her like this. So he nodded at her and said, "Jump in. I'll take you a shortcut."
