Looking at the determined look on Carl's face in front of him, Marvin felt depressed. When he was young, he also dreamed of being together with Sofia all his life, but so what?

He had also wanted to take Sofia to live far away, but he couldn't escape the fate of being the emperor, and he couldn't give up either.

He had his own country, and he had his own course of life. As an emperor, how could he ignore the country for the sake of his own private affairs? As a descendant in the imperial family, since he had enjoyed the supreme glory, he had to make a corresponding sacrifice for it.

But he knew Carl too well. If his son couldn't find any reason to refuse, he wouldn't change his mind even if he killed him.

"Carl, may I ask you a question? Who is the one in your heart?"

Carl was speechless for a moment. He had never thought of marrying anyone. In his heart, no woman could be believed. Moreover, before avenging his mother, he was not qualified to have a romantic relationship.

Hearing this, Linda held her breath subconsciously. She was curious about who could make Carl disobey the emperor's order regardless of anything.

"Father, I haven't met the one yet, but I believe that one day I will meet a woman who only loves me like my mother did to you."

When Carl mentioned his mother, the displeasure in Marvin's eyes disappeared a lot. He used to like Carl from the bottom of his heart, because he was the favorite son of Sofia, so Carl had been pampered and cared more than other children since childhood.

However, after the death of Sofia, Carl no longer stayed close to him, and there was a trace of resentment in his eyes. Over the years, he had become more and more lonely, unlike the little boy who liked to stick to him.

Marvin softened his tone as the past memories flashed through his mind.

"Then how do you know that Jennie is not the woman you are destined to marry? You haven't got along well with her. How can you judge that she is not your Mrs. Right?"

"But father..."

"Well, don't argue anymore. Don't say that I'm cold-blooded. I will give you ten days to get along with Jennie. If you still think that she is not your Mrs. Right ten days later, I will choose another person for her."

Carl frowned. He knew that Marvin was trying to delay time, but he couldn't find a suitable reason to refute or refuse. When he was in a dilemma, he heard Linda say,

"Your Majesty, please forgive me. I have no right to speak to you, but as Princess Jennie's personal maid, I have to speak for her."

Marvin turned to look at Linda. How could he ignore the subtle interaction between this woman and his son? If there was no feelings between the two, he would never believe it.

"Tell me."

"Your Majesty, please forgive me for my boldness. You said that you will give His Royal Highness ten days to see if our princess is the one who has been destined. Have

have never seen his eyes since my mother died. Do you know you are playing with fire? Your identity will be exposed sooner or later. Why do you still come back to the palace?"

The strong anger of Carl made Linda feel inexplicable. He had a cold face since the first time she saw him. This kind of personality was really unbearable.

"Are you crazy, Carl? Where I am has nothing to do with you. If you don't go away, don't blame me for being rude."

"Do you dress like this to attract my father's attention, Linda? Don't think you can do whatever you want with a little cleverness. You will be killed by it sooner or later."

She raised her hand and tried to push away Carl, but her arm was held tightly in his palm. Linda's anger rose immediately and shouted at Carl angrily,

"I don't want to talk to you, you lunatic. It's my business what I want to do. You have no right to care about me. Let me go."

Carl loosened his grip on Linda's hand and bent over to kiss her. She felt a buzz in her head.

She bit his lips hard, raised her hand and slapped him. Her eyes narrowed slightly, emitting a cold aura.

"Carl, you are crazy. Wake up. Do you know what you should do most now? You'd better think about how to take care of your own business. Don't worry about mine. Although your father has promised not to let you marry Jennie, if she still chooses you in the end, you must marry her. So, you'd better think about how to deal with it. You have no right to ask about my business."

Looking at the determined back of Linda, Carl felt extremely upset. He didn't know why he kissed her so impulsively, nor did he know why he cared so much about her every move.

Carl raised his hand and touched his face which had been slapped by Linda. Determination flashed across his cold eyes. What Linda said was right. He couldn't wait passively any longer. Everything must have a new beginning, and there should be a perfect ending.
