The doorbell rang.

Nancy thought it was Allen coming back and yelled at him, "Go away! I don't want to see you!"

"It's me."

Hearing this voice, Nancy felt wronged. She shouted, "Stefan, do you want to laugh at me? Save it. "

"Open the door!"

Stefan ordered as he rang the bell again.

Nancy walked to the door and looked through the peephole. It was only Stefan there and she couldn't see Mr. Yang anywhere.

"Open the door." Stefan said in a softer tone. He was not ordering any more.

Nancy wiped her tears hastily and opened the door.

She opened the door a crack, stretched her face and asked, "What do you want now?"

Stefan pushed the door away, stared at Nancy's red and swollen eyes and her swollen face, and said with a sneer, "So ugly you are!"

Nancy felt she had been wronged.

"Why do you still despise me now?" said Nancy. She pouted and cried even uglier.

At the moment, Stefan squeezed in with some things in his hands.

Nancy was about to cry again. She pointed at him and asked, "what the hell do you want to do? You are breaking into another people's house at a late night."

"I'm hungry. Cook some noodles for me!" He handed the bag to Nancy, walked to the sofa in the living room and turned on the TV.

When she looked at the bag in her hand, which was filled with fresh ingredients bought from a convenient store, it also made her stomach rumble.

She hadn't had any decent meal for a whole day.

She wiped her tears and cried for too long. She couldn't stop crying all of a sudden.

Turning around, Stefan put his hand on her forehead and said, "Go and cook the noodles."

Nancy twitched her mouth and sobbed, "How ungrateful of you! Don't you have hands?"

"Do you dare to eat the food I cooked?" With a reasonable expression, Stefan winked at her to let her do it quickly.

Nancy turned on the lights in the kitchen and started to cook the noodles.

While cutting the green onion, she burst into tears when she remembered that it was Allen who cooked noodles for her in the past.

She didn't even realize that the man who was watching TV was standing right behind her.

"Hello!"

"What?" She said and turned her face to Stefan angrily.

Looking at her disfigured face, Stefan was fearful of the knife in her hand and whispered, "I don't need any onions."

He worried that if Nancy held a pessimistic view towards things, she might scratch her hand with that knife.

"I've told you I don't want these onions. Why do you still cut them?" he asked grumpily.

"That's for me! You don't eat it. It doesn't mean that nobody else is allowed to eat it. You selfish people! All selfish men! All men are assholes! You are the same! None of you are good people. All of you are craps and beasts. Asshole! Allen is such a bastard! Big bastard!" As she spoke, she angrily cut some onions on the chopping block.

Looking at the pieces of chopped green onion, Stefan walked away silently, watched his TV seriously, and said no more.

She looked at her watch and found that it was already three o'clock at the midnight.

She sniffed and brought two bowls of noodles.

Stefan took off his suit jacket, loosened his tie, crossed his legs and sat at the tea table in the living room. Then he picked up his chopsticks and started to eat.

Nancy also sat down and began to eat the noodles.

In the warm yellow light, the two people ate silently without saying anything. It was still raining outside.

Stefan swallowed the noodles, looked up at her and said, "It tastes bad."

"Well." Nancy was about to say something, but tears streamed down her cheeks again.

Stefan was surprised and stopped talking. He went on eating. There was no salt in the noodles, but he didn't feel it hard to swallow. Maybe he was very hungry.

Many years later, he still remembered this bowl of noodles.

He couldn't forget that taste and the warm memory at this time.

Tears kept falling down her cheeks. Most of her tears fell into the noodles in soup so she did not feel it taste watery.

Stefan looked back at her from time to time to confirm that she was fine.

In case she went crazy, she

would kill them both.

He pushed the empty bowl in front of Nancy. "Go and wash the dishes."

Nancy rolled her eyes at him and thought, 'What a horrible god! Why did he send this kind of demon to me? He didn't even let me be alone. I just want to cry all by myself. It's a hard thing for me now.'

"You need to wash the dishes," Stefan said. She grabbed the tissue and wiped off her tears. "I am feeling bad," answered Nancy.

"I say the name of a TV channel and you say one. When we turn on it, one of us will go to do the dishes and it depends on how many people we will see on TV programs. If we see more people on the TV channel that you choose, then it's your turn to do the job."

"What?" Nancy couldn't get her head around it and asked. "Are you still a kid? Nothing but do the dishes."

"You may want to do it." Stefan stretched his arms, lied back and stretched his long legs on the carpet.

"I choose the news channel," depressed, Nancy grabbed the remote and asked, "what about you?"

"Movie channel," Stefan said calmly.

"You are doomed to lose!" A glimmer of delight rose from the bottom of her heart.

She pressed the remote control. An old romantic movie was played on the film channel. The man and the woman were kissing passionately.

"Two." "Not bad," replied Stefan.

She didn't know what the news channel looked like at 3:00 am. She guessed that it must be someone who was replaying the news alone.

She felt shocked when she pressed the button of the remote control.

It was playing the march of a country. There were numerous people gathering there.

"You lost. Go wash the dishes." Stefan seemed to be smiling.

Nancy pursed her lips, took the bowl and stood up, staring at the back of his head.

She kept cursing him in her mind while washing the dishes.

Unconsciously, the pain in her heart caused by Allen had been alleviated a lot.

If it wasn't Stefan here, she might not be able to hold on anymore, and she might jump off the balcony unconsciously.

He picked a movie, turned around and said, "Finished? Do you have any ice beers? Bring me some."

"Mr. Mu, are you out of your mind? This is not your home, and I'm not your servant. Why do you take it as your own home?" Nancy complained. "Can you be more polite if you want to ask others for help next time?"

"Please shut up!" Stefan took a glance at her rudely and said, "stop your crying or chattering."

Hearing what he said, Nancy was speechless. She felt stuck, then she took some ice beers from the fridge and threw them in front of him.

"Sit down and watch a movie," Stefan said and motioned her to sit.

"What? You need to leave now. This is not your home, okay?"

"Is it your home?" Stefan asked in reply.

Nancy was speechless.

"I've already asked the driver to get off work with Mr. Yang. This house is too far from my home, so I can't walk back." He opened a can of beer and watched the TV leisurely.

Nancy also opened a can of beer and sat down.

Not until then did she realize that the movie he chose was a thriller.

'How funny! Two people were watching a horror film at three o'clock in the morning.'

When Nancy was about to tease him, she was shocked by the frightening scene of the film. She immediately shrank into the soft sofa.

"Did you see that? The ghost is ugly, isn't it? You're not beautiful at all. And you will be more frightening if you become a ghost," said Stefan.

Suddenly, Nancy felt a little warm in her desolate heart.

Looking at the calm side face of Stefan, she thought, 'You are here because you know what they have done and you are worried about me, right?'

Suddenly, Stefan instinctively closed his eyes and turned his head with fear while hearing a scream from the TV.

Looking at him, Nancy smiled.

Stefan opened his eyes and stared at her. Nancy also stared at him and rounded her eyes.

"I'm telling you again. Why you were in V304 is none of my business," Stefan kept saying, "strictly speaking, I have saved your life. You got that?"

"What?"

Nancy replied and then froze. She gave him a look, as if to say, "Okay, please don't lie to me".
