Fiona felt hopeless—no one could save her now. She shouted for help but neither Jonas nor Melissa even turned around. Her heart ached at this.

Most of her clothes had already been ripped off. She felt like a puppet—powerless and lifeless. She had nowhere to hide.

Instinctively, she took a step back.

Suddenly, the man who was undressing her was kicked violently in the chest by another man. That same man then pulled Fiona into his arms. Before she could respond, the man roared at her, "Why are you so stupid? Don't you know how to fight back?"

She was astonished upon hearing the voice. She turned and looked over at the man.

She managed to cry out despite feeling helpless.

She wrapped her arms around Jeremy, her hero. She began sobbing as she buried herself in his chest.

Jeremy caressed her head as a way to comfort her. Then he raised his hand and pointed at the group of playboys. He bellowed, "You dare hurt my woman? I'm going to make you regret this!"

'You have a death wish. If you try to hurt my woman then you deserve to be punished!' he thought.

"What... Who are you?"

The lights in the bar were dimmed. Taken aback by Jeremy's intimidating aura, the rich playboys eyed him suspiciously.

"I'm Jeremy Fu."

Joey, the man who had been kicked, instantly recognized Jeremy as he got up from the floor. He rubbed his nose, pissed that he had gotten embarrassed. "You're Jeremy Fu? Aren't you just an illegitimate son of the Fu family? Do you really think you're worthy of being taken back by the Fu family? You don't have the right to be an inheritor of the Fu family."

How could an illegitimate child oppose him?

Jeremy pursed his lips and said with a sinister smile, "Well, you're right. I don't have the right to inherit the Fu family fortune. Unfortunately for you, I couldn't care less."

He intended to destroy the Fu family with his own hands. He wanted them to pay for what they had done.

"Let her go. She's ours tonight. You should know the consequences if I tell my father about what you do tonight. He might go up against Phil Fu tomorrow."

Joey didn't think the Fu family would care about a lowly bastard like him. If Caspar's legs recovered, where would he end up?

Joey was a proud man who was determined to win Fiona.

In the meanwhile, a group of people had flocked the room, blocking the way.

The other playboys quickly realized that something was wrong. They tapped Joey on the shoulder an

d warned him, "Take it easy, Joey. It seems he came prepared."

"I'm not afraid of him. Go ahead!"

"Let's see if you can put your money where your mouth is!"

Jeremy said insolently, He let go of Fiona, took off his coat, and draped it over her shoulders. He also helped her straighten her dress.

Just as he was about to step forward, Fiona grabbed his hand. Looking worried, she pleaded, "Don't go."

She was afraid that Jeremy wouldn't be able to handle them.

"Don't worry. I'm confident that I can protect you."

He then shook off her hand.

Fiona could still feel the warmth from his hands long after he had let go.

Jeremy slowly inched towards Joey. Joey was visibly frightened. His voice trembling, he said, "Don't...don't come anywhere near me. I'm the young master of the Chen family. My family is very influential and powerful."

"Oh, is that so? I hate it when people talk too much."

Jeremy rolled his sleeves up, bracing himself for what was to come. Joey already seemed sluggish, unable to fight back.

Jeremy glowered at him as he kicked Joey—not even putting in that much effort.

"Argh! That hurts!"

Jeremy placed his arms around Fiona as they made their way to the door. Joey was still yelping in pain. Before Jeremy left, he ordered his men, "Break their legs, all of them!"

His men answered respectfully, "Yes, sir!"

Shrill screams rose one after another. Fiona wanted to leave now that she knew Jeremy was going to be safe

When they stepped outside, it was pouring. Fiona didn't even miss a beat as she continued walking forward.

"Looks like the rain isn't going to let up anytime soon. Where do you want to go?"

Fiona remained silent. Not far away from here was the bridge where Jonas and Melissa had found her. Back then, she was still a beggar.

She looked down at the river under the bridge as tears came gushing out.

Perhaps, continuing to live was a huge mistake. Maybe she should have left this world a long time ago. She fumbled to climb the bridge, sat down, and closed her eyes. She let the breeze blow on her as the rain continued to pour.

Jeremy stood quietly behind her. Holding an umbrella, Jack asked timidly, "Mr. Jeremy, shall we..."

Jeremy subtly pushed Jack away as he walked over to Fiona. He dragged her down, slapped her on the hip, straightened her body, and placed his hands on her shoulders. Through gritted teeth, he asked, "Are you trying to get yourself killed?"
