Gabriel was already alone when I returned to my desk. It was noon, and I knew he was supposed to be in a lunch meeting. I saw him sitting on his chair unmoving in his glass office.

I texted Chelsea that I'd be late for lunch and go with Jacey without me. Soundlessly, I stepped into his office, and he immediately felt my presence.

"Is everything all right?" I asked.

He spun around and looked up at me with an inexplicable expression in his face. He stood up and strode toward me, then pressed me against his body, sniffing my hair. I could hear the gritting of his teeth.

"Say you'd never betray me, Audrey, " he whispered harshly.

I searched for his eyes. "What's going on? Why the question?"

"Say it."

"Why would I betray you?"

"That's not the correct answer." He cupped my face and possessively claimed my mouth, and at that second, he's like an angry, hungry lion eating his prey. His breath was momentarily driving me crazy, the scent of his perfume mixing with his body heat. He slightly bit my lower lip and pulled it in his mouth.

"Wait." I glided my hands on his chest. I could never get over the power he possessed over me, and at the same time, he was sexy as hell. Just a simple, hot, kiss I was already floating in outer space. "Gabriel, what's going on with you?"

"Don't break my trust, Audrey, " his voice was like a warning. "At least not you."

I sighed. "How could I do that to you? You probably know more about me than me."

He nodded. "I trust you, " he murmured. "Call off your lunch. I'll cancel mine. You're staying here with me. At least for an hour, Audrey."

My shoulders fell. Looking at his impossibly gorgeous face was convincing me enough to comply.

"I will call for delivery." I smiled. "What do you like for lunch?"

"You know what I like." A small smile finally appeared on his lips. "It's up to you." He glanced at his wristwatch. "We have less than an hour. Hurry up, and come upstairs."

I nodded. "Okay."

Upstairs meant his suite on the uppermost floor. I'd been there thrice when to pick up some things, but I never really stayed or tried to look around, but it definitely looked like a personal space extension of his office whenever he was staying late.

I texted Chelsea again that I wouldn't be able to come and told her that the boss asked me to stay. I called for lunch delivery at Mercy's, a Mediterranean restaurant Gabriel really liked, only a block away from the office, then called Jones and requested to take it upstairs.

Hurriedly, I used the executive elevator towards the upper floor that connects to Gabriel's chamber, and I immediately found him in front of the stereo, holding a remote control, and he was only in his white dress shirt. His silk necktie tied undone. On the center table, there were a bottle of uncorked champagne and two empty glasses. A song titled 'Anthem' by Connor Bvrns and Bonn was playing. The melody was very sad, yet I feel so in love.

As soon as he put the remote control down, Gabriel rushed to me and picked me up, wrapping my legs around his waist, and his hands supporting my buttocks. I held on to his shoulder.

"I can't wait anymore, Audrey. I've been very patient, but I already want to claim you. But of course, we won't do anything you don't like."

"I want you, Gabriel, " I confessed.

"Then kiss me if you do."

I grinned, then lowered my head to his sweetly kissed his firm mouth. Suddenly, he walked to the couch and tossed me on the cushion. Gabriel settled on top of me, without breaking the kiss, and he was already unbuttoning his shirt.

The song, our breaths, the sounds of our mouths, and the rustling of our clothes' fabrics were like my own personal music. I became highly conscious of my body like my skin was ultrasensitive.

But enough about me. I wanted more of him. I wanted to taste him.

Boldly, I sprang up and swiftly rolled over on top of him. I might have kept my virginity, but I already had two boyfrien

"Just like that." I looked down at the lunch box in front of me. It had portions of Greek salad, hummus, pita, and chicken. "This looks delicious."

"I had this lunch box delivered whenever I decided to stay for lunch, " he informed. "So how was it? Your past boyfriends."

I rolled my eyes. "Oh stop referring it like that. You know, they were nice. Never cheated. Decent. Smart. But it was always me who had to be indifferent."

"Why is that?"

"I can't move forward, Gabriel. I was stuck. Whenever I was at that point… you know, " I opened up. "I mean when we're finally going to have sex, I'd always freak out in the middle."

"And they broke up with you because of that?"

"No." I shook my head. "I initiated the break-up."

He was silent for a moment as he ate, but then he asked again, "Why'd you freak out, Audrey?"

"I don't know. It's not like I don't want sex. I want to, but whenever I was already there…"

"You stop."

"Yes. Ever since what happened to me and Liam, which I never told anyone, but you, I could never fully give myself, " I admitted. "I tried, but I was holding back. This is also why I'm afraid of starting any relationship."

"Are you still afraid, Audrey?"

I shrugged. "Maybe. I don't know."

"Then why are you telling me?"

"So you'd know what to expect. I don't like to freak you out, and in the end, I'd have to break up—"

"Stop right there, " he cut me off. "Do you still think there's an end to this? There's no end, Audrey. I'm never letting you go even if you beg me to."

I sucked the air at what he said. And he said it as if it was so simple. "Even when you asked me not to betray you? What if I did?"

"People said they don't want me angry. I can be very irrational." His words were more like a warning. "Those who betray me don't exist on my page anymore."

I couldn't answer. My mind was mixed up.

"But if you did betray me…" he went on. "That's a different case. You're my angel, Audrey so whatever curse the betrayal might cause us, you're still going to be stuck with me. However, don't think that I'd be so merciful. My demands can be very intolerable."

My throat dried up and I'd never been this nervous in front of him. "But what if I don't want you anymore?"

"You're not going to let me go?"

He cocked his head to my side. "I'm obsessed with the idea of us, don't you see? It's impossible to keep you out of my sight. But then I guess all those queries were hypothetical. No can have you either, but me." He forked the chicken on my bento. "Eat."

I opened my mouth and fed it to me. I chewed it very slowly, still in so deep with his words.
