Ben ignored Tracy's question; his mind raced as he began to think of a way to deal with her.

Tracy's eyes were fixed on Ben. His silence irked her. "Tell me!"

She felt as if someone had stabbed her heart with a knife.

Tracy believed Brody's words. There was no smoke without fire. She knew that there was a reason behind his remark.

Ben couldn't meet Tracy's eyes.

He started the engine and reversed car. It seemed that he didn't plan to explain anything to her.

Tracy was devastated. She dropped her hand from Ben's sleeve and looked away.

There was no point in questioning him further.

Ben spoiled Tracy with his concern and care.

But his silence troubled her; she couldn't help but question his intention.

"Tracy, I'm disappointed in you." Ben suddenly spoke up.

Tracy lifted her head and looked at Ben in confusion.

"Were these three years not enough for you to understand me?"

Ben laughed bitterly.

Tracy continued to stare at him as her mind raced back in time. Their first meeting was still vivid in her memory.

Tracy was eighteen years old when she first met Ben at the casino.

She was too upset that day and had decided to gamble. Gambling always lifted her mood.

She had never lost a bet, but things were different that day.

The game was getting out of her hand. She couldn't anticipate Ben's move.

After the endless tension, Tracy finally won the game. Ben told her that he let her win because she was six years younger to him.

However, Tracy was not convinced.

But she knew it was true.

The car came to a sudden halt, snapping Tracy out of her reverie. Her eyes widened when the familiar building came to view.

"You may leave now,"

Ben snapped.

Tracy glanced at him and walked out of the car.

She heard an angry voice that resonated with the loud thud of the car door.

Tracy froze; her mind went blank for a moment, but she returned to her senses soon.

She saw Brody's long shadow on the car that grew longer as he stepped closer to her.

Ben, who had started the car to leave, turned the engine off when he saw Brody.

Brody glared at Ben before he pulled Tracy in his arms.

Tracy yelped in pain as the bruise on her waist began to hurt.

She knitted her eyebrows and studied Brody's angry face.

She wondered if Brody was mentally ill; for he got an unusual pleasure by hurting her.

"Let her go!" Ben screamed at the top of his lungs.

Brody pulled Tracy closer to him and stared at Ben.

"Who the hell are you to order me?

Mind your business."

"Can't you see that you're hurting her?" Ben waved his hands in exasperation.

Tracy bit her lips and endured the pain.

"I'm fine, Ben. Don't worry about me. Take care of yourself!"

Brody held her chin and forced her to look at him.

"Shut up!"

Her eyes were shut tight, and Brody loosened his grip as he realized that she was in pain.

"Brody, how do you expect me to respect you when you hurt and humiliate Tracy

time and again?"

Brody's behavior annoyed Ben. He couldn't watch him hurt Tracy.

Tracy shook her head, gesturing Ben to remain silent.

"She is my woman. I get to decide whether to respect her or not. Who the hell are you to lecture me? Stay the fuck out of our lives."

Brody clenched his fists; the blue vein on his forehead began to throb violently.

A shiver ran down Tracy's spine as she saw the menacing look on his face.

She could feel his racing heart under his chiseled chest.

Brody's entire body was shaking with rage.

"Don't move!" He bit his lip and looked at Tracy.

He was pleased to see the panic in her eyes.

She was looking like a deer caught in headlights.

"Tracy is your woman; don't take her for granted. It will be too late before you realize your mistake."

Tracy could feel Brody's muscle tighten.

Her stomach flipped with anxiety; she sensed that something was wrong with Brody.

"Stop arguing! Ben, please leave now."

Tracy bellowed.

She couldn't watch them fight because of her.

She broke free from Brody's hold and rushed toward Ben to stop him. However, rage clouded Brody's mind.

He swung his arm without realizing what he was doing.

Tracy cried out in pain.

He wanted to assault Ben, but his blow accidentally landed on Tracy's back.

Tracy's vision grew blurry as tears filled her eyes.

Brody was startled; he stared at Tracy as the reality slowly sank in. Ben lost his temper; he swept Tracy into a protective embrace.

Brody darted toward Tracy and grabbed her arm. "Tracy, are you insane?"

Ben flew into a fit of rage. ''You fucking bastard! It was your mistake, not hers."

Brody ignored Ben. He cupped Tracy's cheeks and stared into her eyes. "Tracy? Are you okay?"

Tracy staggered to her feet and shook her head. She could neither see the panic nor worry in Brody's eyes.

She just felt the pain that was gnawing her bones.

Her head was spinning; she could still feel the sound of the blow ringing in her ears.

Brody's heart sank. He held Tracy's shoulder and lifted her.

Ben had lost his cool. He clenched his fists and stepped in front of Brody.

He growled, "Brody, I warn you not to hurt Tracy. If you lay a finger on her, I will kill you with my bare hands."

Brody stormed into the mansion, with Tracy in his arms, ignoring Ben's taunts.

Brody made her sit on the couch as soon as they entered the house. "Tracy..." he called her name.

Tracy looked at Brody, shaking her in disbelief.

His gaze was fixed on her.

Tracy wondered if he was worried about her.

However, she quickly brushed the thought away.

Brody enjoyed abusing her; why would he feel sorry for her?

Brody inspected Tracy's face and realized that she was fine. The anger that had simmered down rose in an instant and gushed through his veins as he remembered what she had done.

"You know what will happen if you cross the line, don't you, Tracy? Then why are you provoking me?"
