Jonathan glared at Jack and said, "how dare he refuse?"

Jack couldn't stand it anymore. If he stayed here any longer, his father would sell him to someone.

Silently, he got up and walked out of the room. Rachel followed him out after she hesitated for a moment.

When they was about to leave, the two people who were having a nice conversation in the ward stopped at the same time and looked at the door.

Then they turned around and looked at each other. The tacit smiles in their eyes were very weird.

When Jack walked to the balcony, he found Rachel was following him.

He slightly leaned over and put away the cigarette box in his hand. He said indifferently, "Why are you here?"

Rachel made a smile and said, "Let them talk."

Then she said hesitantly, "I came out to say thank you."

A sudden change of expression appeared in Jack's black eyes, with a faint of smile hidden. He put his hand on the balcony railing and tapped on the edge of it with his slender fingers quietly.

"Say thanks to me?"

Rachel nodded her head and said earnestly, "Thank you so much for your help in the past few days."

Hearing this, he lifted the corners of his mouth and smiled quietly. He leaned over slightly, which made him look oppressive in terms of height.

Rachel couldn't help but take a step back. When she moved back, she saw the balcony fence behind her.

When she was about to push him away, Jack didn't step forward. He frowned and looked at her with his black eyes.

He pursed his lips and said in a low voice, "Do you think I did all these just to hear thanks from you?"

Feeling his anger, Rachel held her breath subconsciously.

Her intuition told her that if she answered yes, Jack would be furious.

"No... "Not like that..."

"Then what do you think I did that?" He approached closer and closer, and made no concession. His deep eyes turned mysterious.

Rachel's heart missed a beat. She had nowhere to retreat. She leaned her back against the fence and couldn't help turning her head so that she wouldn't look into his eyes.

Unable to answer his question, Rachel tightened her lips. Fortunately, the light was dim.

Her awkward expression was not obvious, and her silence did not mean that Jack was going to let her go.

When the weather was hot, there was a breeze on the balcony, but the heat couldn't be away between them because they were too close to each other.

Seeing that Rachel didn't answer him, Jack was a little more insatiable. He was so close to her and had no intention of making way.

He started to play with her long hair leisurely, and rolled it around his fingers. Her black hair was flexible and soft, as smooth as silk.

Rachel was the first one who couldn't stand his gesture. She had no alternative but to push him. "Jack... Can you go away?"

"What? What's

en you and Jack?"

She didn't expect that Eric would ask her about this. With a stiff face, she tried to deceive him. "Nothing."

Eric was disdainful of her ignorance. He curled his lips and said, "I'm not blind. Tell me the truth. In these days, Jack has been here to look after me. It's really a nightmare for me that he takes care of me."

Rachel nervously rubbed her nose with her hand. She bowed her head and thought for a long time. Suddenly, she said, "What do you think of Jack now?"

"How is he now?" After a long pause, Eric was taken by great surprise. Turning to look at his sister, he asked in disbelief, "Are you serious? "

Rachel slightly stared at him and said, "I'm just asking. Do you think he has changed?"

"Yes, he has." Eric thought for a while, "It's quite obvious."

He rubbed his jaw and looked at her, squinting, "Rachel, is he bewitched? Personality transforming? I'm curious."

If Jack were here, he would shoot daggers at Eric when he heard what he said.

Rachel didn't know how to reply. Anyway, she thought she had to talk to someone about it.

She knew she couldn't talk about it to Lea, who might fly into a rage. And it was more improper for Lucas to talk about it.

She didn't expect that Eric was the most reliable one, who could listen her to speak it out.

'But maybe he doesn't understand what I am talking about.'

Rachel couldn't help but ask, "Jack said... He wants to start over."

She couldn't ask what she really wanted to ask. Thinking of the meaning of start over, Eric repeated it several times and asked stupidly, "Rachel, does he mean that he wants to chase you?"

Rachel nodded her head shyly. "That's exactly what I mean."

"Fuck!" Eric just spoke a curse word, "Is he out of his mind?"

"Hey, can you speak in a polite way?" What did he mean by saying he's out of his mind? Was he despising Jack or herself?
