Stunned and confused, Sherry asked, "Why would you feel that way?"

The rain poured harder and the winds almost blew the umbrella away. In response, Jeffrey tightened his grip on the umbrella and made sure that Sherry wasn't getting wet.

"Don't say that now. Let's just head back first or I can call the driver!" With that, he took his phone out of his pocket.

"No!" Hearing this, Sherry quickly grabbed his phone but her legs gave out on her. Losing her balance, she fell into his arms.

Startled, Jeffrey dropped the umbrella so he could hold her up.

Sherry's eyelids were so heavy that she couldn't even bring herself to say anything. She was so weak that she couldn't utter a single sound.

Jeffery held Sherry in his arms. His care for her was beyond words.

Soon, Sherry felt better. Her eyelids were still a little heavy but she could tell that she was in a different place now. It was much warmer here and she could feel the soft quilt that was draped over her body.

With that, she was already fully awake.

She gradually opened her eyes to allow herself to get used to the bright lights first.

When she turned her head, she saw the spacious room before her and the exquisite chandelier hanging above her.

Suddenly, someone came in. His familiar voice came, soft and gentle, "Are you awake?"

"Jeff... Jeffrey?" She propped herself up and rubbed her eyes. She then saw Jeffrey walking towards her.

Jeffery ran a hand through his hair, smiling at her. "How do you feel now? Do you need to see a doctor?"

Sherry lowered her head and looked at her clothes. She was wearing pajamas now.

When Jeffrey saw this, he immediately explained, "Don't worry. It was hotel st

led bitterly and shook her head. "I was afraid that you would be angry with me! You should be staying away from me!"

Jeffery frowned and said, "No, I never even considered that!"

"You wouldn't but I bet your father would want that. You shouldn't get too close to me," Sherry said lightly, sounding a bit upset.

She didn't want anyone getting in trouble for her, especially Jeffrey whom she considered as her own brother.

He shook his head and explained, "No, it's not what you think. I was a poor student before. I had to work just so I could have money."

Until he met Sherry, he'd been having a rough time.

"You were the only one who was nice to me and didn't see me differently like the others did." Jeffery sighed as he thought back to his first meeting with Sherry.

Sherry too thought back to the first time she met Jeffrey. Back then, everything was much less complex. Her life was simple and less complicated unlike her life now.

"I'm an illegitimate son. For more than half of my life, I believed that my father was a poor farmer. One day, I found out that he's actually a rich man," Jeffrey said, chuckling.
