"Are you sure?" He pursed his lips and gave a faint smile.

"I'm sure!" She stressed her tone.

Zac reached out and held her by the waist. "When you stand in front of me, you are like a rose with thorns. When you lie under me, you are like a gentle jasmine. So, yes. I'd say I've already proven it."

"What? I didn't!" Essie blushed at his words. It was a good thing that he only whispered the words in her ear so no one else heard them. It would have embarrassed her to death if anyone around them heard his words.

"It doesn't matter. We have enough time to check tonight if it's true or not," Zac said with a mischievous smile on his face.

Essie felt like she just shot herself at her foot.

Across them, Daisy smiled at them and said, "Hey, Zac. I heard that you've actually forgotten your wife. Is this your way of falling in love with her again?"

open, Essie felt fear creep up her spine. "Zac, I think I just saw the female ghost in red," she said timidly.

Zac was shocked. He stopped his stomping and turned towards the yard. "Where did you see it?"

"She was in the grass but she disappeared quickly." Essie hid behind him and hid her face behind his sleeve. It was too dark in the haunted yard. They could only see blurry shadows of the weeds and nothing else.

"Your vision must be playing tricks on you," Zac said in a soothing voice as he patted her head.

But was it just a product of her imagination? Essie's fear didn't ease at all. Something didn't sit well with her. It had been rumored that a ghost inhabited this section of the bamboo grove. More specifically, it was a female ghost in red.

"Zac, don't you think the ghost hates your family so much? She is unable to reincarnate for so many years."

Zac flicked her forehead. "You little fool. There are no ghosts in this world."
