A week later.

Lauren was almost going crazy because she was out of options and ideas of what to buy for Stanley. His birthday was in two days and she was still clueless about what to get him.

Buying materialistic things doesn't seem too appealing to her because Stan already has all the things she thought of buying for him.

He had told her not to buy anything for him because her love for him was enough to serve as his birthday gift. But Lauren wouldn't dare. 'Why won't she buy him a gift?', she will probably die of guilt if she doesn't get him anything.

Even when it was not her birthday, he was always showering her with expensive gifts. Just imagine all that he would do had it been it was her birthday and not Stans'

She thought about throwing him a party but Stanley hardly has any friends she could invite except for his family and a few friends who were his business partners. Besides, his parents had also planned a birthday family dinner for him on Saturday night, which she had been invited to.

Lauren really wants to make his day special but she doesn't know-how. Last year, She gave him a tie and planned an office surprise party for him. But this year, Stan wasn't just her Boss, he was her boyfriend also.

To top it all, Stanley's birthday falls on Wednesday, the busiest day of the week. one of the days where they usually have unending meetings and work to do.

Lauren heaved a tired sigh and reached for her laptop on her nightstand. She settled on her bed and continued searching for ideas of what she could buy or do for the love of her life on his special day.

Lauren was distracted when her phone rang. She picked her phone up by her side and an involuntary smile crept to her lips when she saw the caller ID; 'Mi Amor'

"Hi." She said to the other side.

"My love. Sorry, I didn't call you sooner, I was on the phone with Joshua. We had a lot to catch up on."

Joshua is Stanley's friend and business partner.

"It's fine. I knew you would call before you go to bed."

"Is anything the problem? You sound worried." Stan asked concerned.

"Nothing, I'm just a little tired."

"Are you sure? Do you need me to come over?"

"Stan, I'm fine I promise." She smiled.

"Fine, if you say so."

"But I do hope you're not getting all stressed up about Wednesday."

When she didn't reply, Stanley realized that's what she was worried about.

"Wrennn, I told you not to worry about it or buy me anything. You've given me the best gift I can ever ask for which is loving me."

"It's easy for you to say." She mumbled.

"I'm serious Lauren. You love me and you make me happy; that's enough."

"Besides, Wednesday is our busy day, I might not even remember that it's my birthday." he reasoned.

"That's because you refused to push all meetings to the next day." She accused.

Stanley chuckled.

"Honestly babe, I don't want anything but it's fine if you insist. You can give me anything, it doesn't have to be expensive. As far as the present is bought, made or planned by the woman I love most in the world, I will forever appreciate it." He assured.

"Besides, we will still celebrate at my parents' place on Saturday." He added, hoping that will ease her tension. The last thing he wanted was for Lauren to feel guilty or entitled to go out of her way for him when he was fine with nothing or anything, no matter how little."

Just like every other birthday, Stanley felt the same way. The only difference now was that he was happier and more fulfilled. Rita was out of his life and Lauren was in his life. She came and added colours to every area of his life and he will forever be grateful to have come across such an amazing human being.

Stan woke up at his usual time and did his morning rituals. He was almost all dressed up for work when he heard someone knock on his door.

He went to answer it and was surprised by who h

e came face to face with.

Since he confessed his feelings to Lauren, their routine has changed. Instead of her coming over to his place every morning, He will drive over to her place to pick her up for work. And most times, Lauren would have made breakfast for the two of them so they will have breakfast together before they leave for work.

Lauren ignored Stanley's surprised look and walked into his bedroom. She placed the cake she was holding on his nightstand and then walked back to him. He had already shut the door but was still by the door side.

"What are you doing here?" He smiled.

Lauren shrugged and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Happy Birthday my love. You're the best thing that I could ever ask for Stanley. You're amazing, you're kind, you're hardworking, You're sexy, you motivate me to be a better version of myself, you treat everyone with respect and most importantly you treat me like a Queen."

"Honestly, I count myself lucky to have a man like you in my life, Stan. And I would never take the love you have for me for granted."

"I wish you long life and prosperity, Good health, peace and all the happiness of this world. God bless you, babe. I love you forever."

She said before giving him a long passionate kiss.

"My heart is full of so much love and pride. Amen and thank you" He smiled after they pulled away from the kiss.

Lauren caressed his cheeks. "You're welcome, darling."

She reached for the medium size vanilla cake where she kept it earlier and then light the small candle on top with a lighter.

She presented it to Stanley. "Say your wish and then blow off the candle." She encouraged.

With a smile on his face, Stanley shut his eyes and wished for a happily ever after with Lauren. He prayed for them to be blessed with adorable babies, for them to always be happy and to be in good health. And most importantly, he wished and prayed for nothing/ nobody to come in between their love.

Stan opened his eyes and blew off the candle while Lauren cheered. She handed him a knife and he cut the cake.

He cut a piece of cake, eat half and fed Lauren the other half.

"I wish my mornings will be like this forever. Thank you my love, I appreciate." He kissed her lips.

"No more thanking me. It's your birthday, you deserve it and even more." She looked into his eyes with so much adoration.

They both ate a few more pieces of cake before Lauren announced it was time for them to go down for breakfast.

"Breakfast?" He asked with an eyebrow raised.

Lauren nodded as she assisted him in knotting his tie.

"I made a special breakfast for you." She smiled.

"Since when have you been in this house this morning?" He asked surprised.

"Or did you sleep here and I didn't know about it?" He joked.

Lauren chuckled. "Don't be silly. If I slept here you would have known because I would have slept right there." She pointed to his bed.

"I arrived over an hour ago and your chef gave me a little help in making a special breakfast for you."

"I can't wait to see what you made." He smiled.

Stanley reached for his wallet and phones, Lauren helped him with his briefcase and they made their way downstairs.

Stanley's heart melted as soon as he saw the breakfast table. Apart from the fact that the table was romantically decorated, it was filled with his favourites.

Lauren was about to pull out a chair for him when he stopped her.

"I want to share this moment with you so will you do me the honour of joining me for breakfast?" He asked.

Lauren shrugged with a shy smile. "If you say so!"

Stanley kissed her cheek and then went ahead to pull out a chair for her after which he sat on the chair beside her.

He made Lauren say a short prayer and then they dug in.

The two lovebirds mostly fed each other and made conversations in between their delicious breakfast.

When they were done with their meal, they cleaned up and left for work.
