After the family dinner, I went straight to the bathroom and to get a bath. I filled the bathtub-warm water with and then I stepped into the water and dipped my body.

I put my earphones on and listened to a piece of pop music. I scrolled through my apps and clicked the ProExpress app. I had received messages from other users, asking questions about programs and codes. Nothing personal messages. I scrolled down and found Jax's old messages. Hmmm. I kind of missed the app. It's been a while since I haven't used it.

I opened one of Jax's messages. His first message to me. I knew he was different from the other users from the very start. He's smart. He knew everything I was asking. I giggled at the thought of he's just right outside the door. Fate could be a little playful.

I put my phone aside and then I closed my eyes. I was still worried about my parents being here. At least the bath was soothing, it somehow relieves the tension.

A few minutes later, I felt a movement in the water. I had fallen asleep. I forced my eyes to open. I frowned. Luke had stepped into the water and stretched out my legs.

"Luke, " I moaned. I pulled my feet away.

"Ssshh… it's okay, " he said in a hushed tone. He held my foot again and started massaging it.

"Hmm…" I bit my lower lip with slight pleasure. He was good at finding the pressure my points.

"Feel good?"

I nodded with a hum. Luke was topless, only a black brief was visible under the water.

"Our parents?" I asked.

He shrugged. "Sleeping? I don't know."

"We should be more careful."

"I locked the door."

I smirked. "You father know your door code. You can't stop him from coming here if he wants to."

He chuckled deliciously. "He won't come here."

I sighed. Thomas wasn't the kind of person who visits his children just because he wanted to. I realized that since he married Mom unless there was business was involved.

"Is there trouble with AT?"

"Nothing. Why do you ask?"

"Well, Thomas is here."

"You figured that out, huh?" He smirked sexily.

"No, I mean. He doesn't visit me often unless he's visiting AT."

"That's Dad."

I bit my lip. "What do you think…" I paused. "What if Thomas found out about us, do you think he will disown me? Or Mom?"

His eyes darkened. "I would never let it happen. He won't find out."

"I'm just saying what if."

He cleared his throat. "Well, it's more of he's going to disown me."

I shook my head. "You're his son. He won't do that to you."

"No, seriously. I've never seen him so happy until he married Gene. He won't find out. I promise."

I nodded. I guess I was just going to trust him for now.

"Let's stop this conversation and let's en

hing for Scarlet by the way he looked at her. Scarlet didn't seem to know her friend was lusting about her. I was sure of that. I couldn't be wrong.

Again, I wanted to believe that what she's telling me about this friend was the truth. That it was nothing like I saw because she already got me. I wanted to believe that she was just like me. A person who had a past she couldn't share with anyone.

But I would make it sure that what I felt for her won't extend too much. I wanted her. I want to fuck her more. That's all. Period. End of the story. For my own sake, I had to have a stone heart. But it doesn't mean I don't want to know more about her. She was like a puzzle, and I was eager to know her better.

Scarlet exhaled sharply. Her shoulders fell. "Simple. He didn't want me to come here with you."

"Why not?" I asked while I caressed her shoulders

"You won't imagine how much pain I went through from the past. My mom doesn't know a single thing. Only Nate and Katherine and he was always there to help me, to save me, even if it's life and death situation. He sacrificed too much for me. So you can't blame me if I still want to save our friendship."

"But he likes you more than a friend, and he's your best friends' boyfriend." I shook my head in disbelief. That fucking bastard had luck in his side.

"Not anymore—I mean, " she sighed, "He did tell me he had feelings for me first before Katherine, but that's all in the past."

"And knowing this, you let him hold you?"

"It's not like that." She faced me and looked into my eyes. "We're friends. Nate won't betray Katherine."

I sighed deeply. She did sound sincere, and I knew that those beautiful eyes won't lie. But I knew there's something more to it. Something more she won't tell me. And I chose to believe her. Again.
