Upon seeing Sally crying, Carla rubbed her little face gently and held her up. "I'm sorry, baby. I had something important to do. I'm sorry for being away too long."

Wiping away her tears, Sally sniffed and said, "I know. You went to see Daddy too, right?"

"Can I go with you next time? I miss you so much. I want to be with both Daddy and Mommy!"

Carla grew silent as hot tears started welling up in her eyes.

She was worried that the children might have a hard time adjusting to this kind of life. However, little did she know, she was ignoring Sally's feelings. Carla now knew that while living with her parents was a bit difficult, Sally was much happier there.

Carla recalled when Sally was still a child, she often liked to tag along with her parents. Even though she'd end up tired, that was just the type of little girl that she was—passionate.

Just as Carla's eyes were tearing up as she thought this all over, Terence came inside and took his daughter from Carla's arms. "Sally, I promise you. When you go on your winter break, I'll take you and your mother on a nice trip. We'll make it up to you, okay?"

They said it was easy to change children's minds. True enough, Sally's mood shifted. She was happy as soon as she heard Terence's words. She put her arms around Terence's neck and asked, "Really? You have to keep your word this time. You have to promise or I'll strangle you!"

"Of course, I won't lie to you."

"Okay, let's make a pinky swear!"

said Sally, extending her baby finger to Terence.

Terence was laughing as he reached out his finger to make a pinky promise with his daughter.

Kaylee, who was sitting on the sofa, could hear the conversation and was touched. She said, "Carla, you have so much to be grateful for. Not only do you have a lovely daughter but you also have a great husband who loves and cares about you."

Kaylee was very expressive of her admiration toward Carla. Her biggest regret in her life was that she could not have a child and thus could not experience the happiness of raising one.

That was why she was particularly fond of Sally.

"Well, Terence, Carla, your dad hasn't been feeling well lately. I think he's caught a cold. Why don't you go upstairs and check on him?"

Kaylee said rather seriously.

Terence then put S

Terence took off his clothes and went to take a shower in the next room. When he came back, Carla was drying her hair on the sofa with Sally in her arms.

Carla and Sally hadn't seen each other for more than ten days. Maybe that was why Carla was spending extra time with Sally. That night, she let Sally sleep with her and Terence.

When they were all in bed, Terence looked at Carla and Sally all snuggled up together. He stretched out his arms and wrapped them both in his arms. "Carla, can you move Sally to the other side? I want to sleep next to you,"

Terence said softly. Sally was currently sleeping in Carla's arms between the two of them.

Carla also felt a little sleepy. She shook her head and said, "No. What if Sally falls off the bed? She should be in the middle."

Raising his eyebrows, Terence got off the bed and moved to the other side of the bed, carrying Carla and Sally in his arms. He moved slightly to the other side of the bed before laying down next to Carla.

He was used to sleeping with Carla in his arms. Since Sally was sleeping with them, he didn't know how to position himself.

Carla was able to sleep on the plane during their flight home, but the bed was much more comfortable so it didn't take long for her to fall asleep again.

In the middle of the night, she woke up as she could feel a body, a man's body, coming close to her.

She tried to push him away but he wouldn't budge. He turned her over so that she was in his arms then he started kissing her passionately on the lips.
