Henry had called his parents and found out that Edgar and Jerry had visited his house. That was why he didn't go back home but rented a room not far away.

The first thing Jerry did was to investigate the phone records of Henry's parents, according to Edgar's hunch. Second, he sought for the information from real estate agents nearby. Until tonight, he managed to find the house Henry rented. However, Edgar wasn't answering his phone, so he decided to come over. Henry was his soldier, so Jerry didn't want him to bear the military liability.

When Jerry was at the bottom of the stair, he had heard a gunshot. An ordinary person would think that someone was just fooling around with firecrackers but as a professional, he knew that it was a gunshot.

Jerry turned his sight away from Edgar's pistol. He didn't believe that Edgar would kill Henry. But at this very moment, he had suspected Edgar was the one who shot Henry.

Meanwhile, Maggie was curled up on the sofa.

She held the TV remote and kept changing channels. She couldn't find the reason why she was feeling so jumpy.

"Maggie, dear, it's already late. Don't stay up." After doing the laundry, Hana had noticed that Maggie kept switching channels so she only shook her head helplessly. "There aren't much on the TV tonight. So why not sleep early? Then you can get up early. Tomorrow morning, you'll accompany me to the market to buy something and you'll have to bring it back. Perhaps, it won't be used here, but overseas..."

"Mom," Maggie interrupted her mother, putting down the TV remote. "They went abroad to get their diseases treated, not for pleasure. You don't need to buy those things." Maggie sighed and held Hana's arm. "I just couldn't fall asleep! I don't know why. Maybe I am so worried for my friend or Edgar. I feel anxious."

Upon hearing her words, Hana sat down on the sofa with Maggie. She said seriously, "To tell you the truth, I didn't agree when your dad wanted Edgar to be his son-in-law. But we have known Edgar so well since his childhood and you love him, so I didn't say anything about it." She saw Maggie touching her hand and continued, "However, he is in the sp

of sadness which hit a spot in her sympathetic heart. She thought it was pitiful of him to celebrate the Spring Festival alone. She couldn't help but say, "Wait. I changed my mind. You're such a poor guy. So where are we going to meet?"

"Ah. That's splendid! I'll come over to pick you up." Her words caused Cain smile. "I'll wait for you outside your house in fifteen minutes."

"All right then. See you." Maggie hung up and checked the screen. There were no messages from Edgar. So she sighed and went to change her clothes.

It was very cold outside and it was snowing. The snow thickly covered the ground and the trees. The wind blew strongly.

Maggie couldn't help but tremble. She pulled down her clothes and placed her hands inside her pockets and walked out of the yard. At a distance, she spotted the Ferrari Cain had been driving these days. She had spoken to Monica about Cain. It was true that he was handsome, tall, and rich, which made others green with envy. Some people would feel pressured if they ever made friends with such a man like him.

Maggie opened the car and got in. The temperature inside the car was warm enough for her to escape the cold.

"Are you really serious?" Maggie rolled her eyes. "I just heard the song played in that restaurant, so I said it casually as a joke."

"I would do everything I promised to do." Cain looked at Maggie intensely. "Unless I chose to play with you around

at first."
