"I love you. I fell in love with you the moment we were working at the Cliff Mountain together…

You're the first and the only woman that I've ever devoted my heart and soul to, Rachel. For some reason, which I don't know why, I've come to terms with the fact that I'll never run into someone like you ever again," Daniel said in a low but earnest voice.

There was only one Rachel Ruan in this world."

Rachel, who was shedding tears, let out a laugh suddenly and quickly responded, "Look at what you've done, Daniel! You made me cry before your wedding day. Just stop already! I totally understand what you're saying. See, I don't even know what you like. I noticed that you're always wearing studs on your ears, and thus I picked out two pairs for you. I hope you like it."

She wiped off her tears with the back of her hand and placed the pair of earrings into his pocket.

Daniel grabbed her hand before she was about to take it back, and said with an emotional tone in his voice, "I'm afraid that I can't stay around you later, and... I'm also afraid that I won't be able to guard you anymore. You just need to hold on, Rachel.

Since you're married to Hiram, you two should stick together until the very end. I know you've suffered a lot during the last few days, and I know about everything. No matter what happens in the future, you must never forget who you are. You're Rachel Ruan, the woman that I love the most in this entire world. As long as you're happy, I can live in peace."

Rachel took a deep breath. Tears fell down from her eyes and ran down her face once more. She patted on Daniel's hand with a smile and said, "What are you talking about, Daniel? I'm not sending you into battle, Buddy!

We'll meet each other from time to time in the future, right? Perhaps we'll even run into each other next week. Who knows when we'll see each other again? Even if we're unable to see one another in the near future, we still have our phones, and we can make calls to catch up regularly."

Daniel smiled back at her. He then bowed his head and said, "Yes, of course. We're still friends, and I'll remain your friend for a lifetime."

However, he was the only one that knew it.

When tomorrow came, he would end the day as a different man. He would bury all of his feelings deeply in his heart, never mentioning it to anyone ever again. It was a great burden to carry for him.

The next time they'd meet, Rachel would merely be Hiram's wife and a friend he respected.

"I'm going outside now. They must have already started looking for me," Daniel said reluctantly, as he turned around to walk towards the door after giving her one last glance.

Rachel watched him walk out with a smile on her face. Tears continued to fill her eyes. She took a deep breath and wiped it off. She had to pull herself together.

All of the good things and moments spent with him, had come to an end. She prayed in her heart for a joyous future for both Daniel and his wife.

Hiram drank quite a lot during the bachelor party and didn't return to their room until late in the evening. Daniel was one of his oldest friends, and he was truly happy that he was finally tying the knot with another woman.

Daniel, Hiram and all of the other male guests were drinking downstairs. Rachel didn't join them, as she preferred staying in their room. She helped Hiram to the bed after he came back. To her surprise, he was a lot more drunk than she thought he would be.

"Perhaps we should clean you up to make you feel better. I'm just going to pour you a glass of warm water first," she said softly, but Hiram grabbed her wrist before she had the chance to turn around.

"I'm fine, honey! It's nothing. Alcohol doesn't have an effect on me. Now, come here!" Hiram asked tipsily as he leaned against the bedhead and dragged Rachel in

r hand. Then they joined Jonny and Joyce and got into the car.

If Rachel wanted to go to the Maldives, she could've gone already, or anytime she liked. Being Mrs. Rong, her name sure did come with a lot of perks.

"Really? I'm very intrigued by that idea! How many days will you stay abroad?" Rachel asked excitedly as she sat in the backseat of their car, still holding Hiram's hand.

"Hmm... Well, I only need one week to deal with my work, and probably another week to spend time with you," Hiram replied. Seeing the excitement on Rachel's face, he started laughing out loud.

Rachel felt as though her heart was about to burst with joy. She felt overwhelmed. Although, she knew that, if he promised her something, he would always keep his word.

Hearing what their parents were talking about, Jonny and Joyce shifted their eyes and asked in one voice, "Mommy, will you please take us with you?"

"Mommy, we also want to go on a vacation to the beach!"

"……"

Rachel was speechless. She glanced at her kids without knowing what to say to them. Getting too excited about what Hiram had suggested, she completely forgot about them.

The main idea was that she and Hiram would finally be able to take their honeymoon together. Especially, because they'd never had one. However, if the kids went with them…

"Okay, fine! We'll take you with us, but Grandma Fannie will go with us too, okay?" Hiram replied to the twins quickly. He couldn't stand them anticipating over the vacation any longer.

"What?" Rachel asked reluctantly. 'Weren't we just talking about our honeymoon?' she wondered in her mind. If both the kids and their grandmother came along with them, how could it be called a honeymoon at all?

Holding her in his arms, Hiram whispered in her ear, "We'll take the kids this time. Besides, Fannie also needs a break after everything that's happened. It will do everybody good to get away from reality. Listen, honey, I travel abroad several times a year. I promise you that it'll be just us next time, okay?"

Thinking about his promise to her, Rachel nodded her head and replied with a smile on her face, "Okay, that sounds like a good idea. I'm sure that it will be a lot of fun, going on a vacation with the kids. I can't wait for us to go!"

Joyce blinked her bright eyes at Jonny once she realized that they were going on the vacation with their parents. Their little hearts were filled with excitement. They then looked at one another and then gave each other a high five!

'Wow, we're going to travel abroad soon!'
