Jean was waiting for Zed peacefully, her smile never leaving her face.

Zed returned from Simon's room. He opened the door as gently as he could, but was surprised to see Jean still awake. She was smiling, looking as if she had been waiting for him. He swallowed his anxiety and asked instead, "Why are you still up?"

"I was waiting for you," she replied, still smiling, and cast a glance at the camera on purpose.

Zed was confused by her words. He didn't know why she waited for him. "Don't wait for me," he scolded her lightly. His reprimand was softened further by his next words. "You should be sleeping well. For yourself and for our baby." Zed's voice dropped as he continued, "As for Uncle Simon, I have already asked him everything I want to know."

"So Uncle Simon knew and agreed to place Sara's accomplices in key positions in Sky International?"

Jean could not help but ask, her curiosity getting the better of her.

Zed nodded his head without saying a word.

Jean was stunned at his wordless confirmation, then pressed on. "Did he tell you why he did that?"

she asked, despite already knowing the answer.

"Yes, he did," Zed sighed. "He said that Sara had shown him information about her allies. At that time, he thought there was nothing wrong with the arrangement, so he agreed," Zed answered, recounting what Uncle Simon had told him.

"I can't believe it," Jean said. She smiled bitterly as she thought of what happened. "Sara must have falsified the information to trick Uncle Simon."

Zed nodded and continued, "Yes, so when Uncle Simon figured out he was being deceived, he was filled with rage. Now he is asking me to crush them and return Sky International to the rightful owners—the Qi family." Zed heaved a sigh.

"I know," Jean said sympathetically. "It's easier said than done, isn't it?"

Zed shook his head. "Maybe, but I have to fulfill this wish no matter how hard it is." "For Uncle," he added quietly after a brief pause.

Jean reached out a hand to him and said, "Yes, you will, I believe in you, and Uncle Simon does too." Jean showed her support.

She was relieved to see that Zed wasn't as dispirited as before, although there was still a sadness that lingered about him.

She knew that the conversation with Simon had helped Zed a lot. He must be feeling more at ease after their talk.

It seemed that Zed had already figured out what to do.

Now, what was left was

I almost thought you would miss the chance earlier, but here he is! Our child is saying hi to you."

"My dearest baby." Zed's heart pounded with joy and he felt his throat constrict with emotion. "Daddy is here. Daddy and Mommy are so excited to see you. You're in Mommy's belly now. You have to promise to daddy that you'll be a good baby and you'll behave. Otherwise, daddy will kick your ass when you're born," he cooed.

Jean laughed at his words. "Zed, are you serious? Are you sure you have it in you to kick his ass?" "Of course

I'm sure," Zed replied without any hesitation, but soft laughs soon followed his declaration. "That reminds me. There's something important we haven't talked about yet," he said.

"What about?" Jean asked, not having any idea what he meant.

"I was thinking about our child's upbringing," Zed started, his voice turning serious. "I don't think it would be good to spoil the child, regardless of gender. We should help him or her be independent and count on himself. What do you think?"

he asked.

"Zed, don't you think it's still a little too early for us to discuss it?" Jean replied. She found it nothing short of precious—his overly serious approach about the child's future, but at the same time, she was perplexed.

Zed, as well as most of his friends grew up as the only child in the family. They were dearly loved by everyone around them, and they had everyone at their beck and call.

But none of them turned out to be bad people after they were grown up.

However, Winner and Shirley, for example, had been spoiled by Joy, and they both had ended tragically.
