Soon, the car arrived at the Shining Company.

"Mr. Lu, we're here!" said David.

"Go upstairs right now. Ask the secretary to be in my office in 15 minutes." Charles promptly ordered. Then he went to the elevator.

David had no idea what Charles was going to do. Even though he had his doubts, he didn't raise it to Charles.

Charles went to his office alone. After pondering for a long while, David decided to knock on his door.

"Come in!"

Charles seemed to be buried in paperwork. When he saw David, he asked, "What's up?"

"Mr. Lu, what do you want to do?" David finally asked. He couldn't get it off his mind, and this was the only way he was going to get the answers to his questions.

"Why don't you see for yourself?" Charles said as he handed the documents he had in his hands to David.

Quizzically looking at Charles, David took the documents.

When he had finished skimming thorough the files, he looked at Charles in disbelief.

"All right, all right. Just get this done. Send it out. I need to make sure she's safe!" Charles said as if he'd read David's mind. He waved his hand, gesturing for David to leave.

David knew how painful this must be for Charles. He couldn't imagine what it was like to make a decision like this. He needed to do his job right because he didn't want to add to Charles' problems any further.

In the Cloud Advertising Company, Sheryl was sitting in her office.

She seemed so upset after she had returned from the hospital. It was like she wasn't seeing or hearing anyone else.

Isla racked her brain, trying to figure out a way to cheer Sheryl up. She'd talked in length to Phoebe about this, but they couldn't come up with anything.

Suddenly, a representative from the Shining Company arrived at their office.

Isla grew furious upon seeing the representative. With her head held high, she spat, "What the hell are you doing here?"

"Ms. Zhao, I'm Monica. I'm a secretary at the Shining Company. Mr. Lu asked me to bring this over

"Are you really going to divorce Sheryl? Answer me!"

"Isn't that what Sheryl has always wanted? I thought she was mad at me because I wouldn't agree to the divorce?" Charles refuted.

She didn't know what to say to this.

"Get her out of here!"

Charles directed David when Isla didn't say anything.

Isla had gotten the answer she wanted—Charles was serious about the divorce. Before leaving, she said, "Tomorrow, nine o'clock in the morning, at the Cloud Advertising Company. You and Sheryl need to discuss some things. After that, you're out of her life for good."

Since Sheryl received that awful letter from Charles, she'd just been sitting in her office, not moving so much as an inch the entire night.

Isla stayed with her as she was worried.

When it was morning on the next day, Isla felt so exhausted that she fell asleep.

While Sheryl appreciated Isla, she couldn't help but feel bad too for causing all this trouble for her friend. Isla deserved to rest, so when Sheryl left the office to meet Charles, she didn't wake her up and made sure to move quietly.

She stood at the ground level of the building as she waited for Charles. Every minute went by so slowly.

Before long, a car pulled over in front of her.

"Ms. Xia!" David greeted. He had come alone, and Charles was nowhere to be found.
