"Ooohh." Adam moaned, "It's so good to be here!"

"Which brings me to a point." Mykl said with mock displeasure. Well, mostly mock displeasure. "About you leaving me handcuffed to my own ship."

"Yes, I was wondering about that." Adam grinned. "How did you get loose?"

"Eventually somebody walked by and got me a blaster… completely ruined the hand rail… anyway I guess, in your own crazy, misguided, annoying little way you probably saved my life. Or tried to." Mykl said to him. "Thank you."

Adam lifted his new left arm slightly and tilted his head at him.

"Thank you." He smiled.

"I heard of one-legged pirates, but I don't think you would make a good one-armed bandit!"

"Ha, ha." Adam chided weakly. "I'm pretty much done with the pirating game now, thank you very much. Maybe I'll take piano lessons. I've got somebody to live for now – remember? Apparently."

"That why you – uh?" He asked, pointing. Adam nodded.

"It was that – or go over with him. Split second choice. …And I wanted to live. Want, I mean. I want to live."

"I'm glad, buddy." Mykl smiled, almost letting his moistening eyes embarrass him. "Well, you can have a long life now… and if you want, a happy one."

"I hope so." Adam smiled tiredly, as his eyes became heavy once more. "Could use some of that…"

Mykl rose from the chair by the bed, placed a hand on his friend's shoulder for a moment and said; "Sleep

tle down-time?" She asked quietly.

"Definitely." Mykl intoned. "I think we could all use some of that. Just not on Tremaine again, not for a while, please!"

She nodded, and then chuckled.

"I haven't seen a blue sky in forever." Ripley smiled thinly.

"Well, the sky on Andronicus isn't blue either – more like lavender!" Mykl grinned, even after she punched him in the ribs.

"Blue skies remind me of home." She smiled, realizing almost as she said it, that she agreed with Mykl's next words, that home was wherever they went together on Antares.

"We are home."

"Did you ever think, " Lofflin asked Dellon Bennett, "That it would be like this?"

Bennett paused in the middle of opening a bottle of sweet red wine, and looked up at him from across the small kitchen counter in the Captain's Flat. Their meal was already laid out on the dining table, and the lights were turned down low. There were even candles.
