"Yeah." Mykl admitted, nodding. He knew it was true. The bit about the guide, at any rate. Going in was dangerous enough. Going in blind was absolute folly. "I know."

"Offer him the deal. A full pardon, a new identity, a clean slate for his full co-operation."

"Yes sir." Mykl replied, falling back to the default setting. It was just easier.

"I don't like it either. Just do it."

"And Mykl, " Hobbs smiled, just before the screen faded, "Watch your back – he got that name for a reason."

'Watch your back', Mykl thought in disgust. Bad enough having to go there at all! Even worse having to go there with one of them! Having that man on his team behind enemy lines was an idea that made his skin crawl! It felt to Mykl like being expected to ask Osama Bin Ladin to hold your shotgun while he tied his shoelaces. He chuckled.

She sighed in exasperation and flopped back into one of several padded sofas that were arranged around a few identical coffee tables. "I just… We're just getting things back together and… Shit, Mykl – I don't want to lose you! This is serious stuff – you could get killed!"

Mykl sat down beside her, thinking of what to say next. 'I don't want to lose me either' was right on top of his list.

"I not going to lie to you, " He said. "It's risky, but at least they won't be likely to just start shooting at one of their own ships, or at us if we're dressed like Corsairs. This is important. You've been afraid of these people – and the threat they posed for so long, all your life. You know just as well as I do how important it is that we do this. This will mean the end of the Corsairs and their reign of terror… If we can get him to go along, it should increase our chances of coming back safely tenfold."
