"Mykl!" She breathed with relief.

"What took you so long?" He sighed.

She went over and greeted him with a hug. He was surprised, but he had to admit, it felt good. She noticed he seemed unsteady on his feet. He was hungry, and thirst, and tired. He was just glad the drama was all over.

"You're shaking!" She noted, "Are you okay?"

He nodded.

"Yes. Just war-nerves, now that it's all over." He grunted tiredly. Their eyes met again, and he noticed how she was making love to him across the distance. She was also looking at him, the same way the others were looking at him – with a new respect in their eyes. He shrugged. She smiled at him. She had a beautiful smile.

"Looks like you're quite the hero." She said. He shrugged tiredly.

"What's the matter?"

The issues they had between them all those years ago were out of his thoughts now, diminished by what he'd been through in the last few hours. They seemed insignificant now. The lights were down low, and they lay awake, pondering the future. She stirred, placing her right leg over him seductively.

"What are you thinking about, Mr. Special Advisor?"

"It's Exo now, thank you." He replied with mock sobriety, his eyes still closed. "Not very much. Think I'll stay on a while; make enough money to fix my ship…"

"And then?"

"Take life as it comes of course. Brave the challenges of open space." He smiled. "You could come with me – be the first member of my new crew!"

"Ha ha!" Ripley mocked him. "And probably the only member of your crew! I already have a ship, thanks for the offer."

"Come on, " He teased. "You can be my first mate."

She frowned at the odd choice of words. First mate.
