Charlie Winters:

I knew when I saw them deep, ocean blue eyes that it was her. It was the girl I fell in love with.

Ellie had always been the girl who concentrated on her education much more than boys. And I didn't like that. Sure, it was no excuse to stand along side Joel and make a remark then and there but i wanted her to notice me. She never did.

The only time I saw her noticed me she looked at me with loathing disgust and I could never ever forget the look.

When she left, my life turned to shit. Literally.

When Ellie replied with a sarcastic or witty comeback, it made my day.

When she left, Joel found me locked in my room. I don't know why but I was crying. Maybe it was because I was drunk. Or maybe it was because I knew deep down I caused her pain and that was why she moved away.

You would think your best friend would support your decision, Joel did anything but that.

"Suck it up, idiot! She is gone because of you so you may as well get over her now" He would say, before adding, "She is useless in this world anyway!"

Joel and I weren't friends anymore. Whilst he blamed her, I blamed him. It wasn't her fault I fell in love with her. Also, Joel didn't accept denial well- so he told the whole entire school I loved her. No one said anything, they wouldn't

dare after what had happened with Joel and I. To them, I was the bad guy. In a way, I feel sorry for Joel, he couldn't help how he felt but that didn't mean he had to do what he did, to me or to Ellie.

After seeing Ellie after this long, I felt lighter, happier.

I was walking towards my apartment, when I heard the voice of my ex- best friend.

I had new friends now.

"Why are you so happy? She'll never love you after what you did to her" He says and I scoff.

"She's fit, isn't she. She'll definitely be in my bed" There was a satisfying crack when I punched him in the jaw.

"She wouldn't forgive you anymore than she'll forgive me" I say bitterly. I can't believe him.

"She will when i tell her you love her" he smirked.

"And what if I tell the school the truth about you?" I ask, I didn't want to but if that meant he was scaring Ellie away from me, I would.

"You wouldn't" He says and I raise a brow.

"Wouldn't I?" I ask, "Do they want to know the real reason we aren't friends?" I had enough strength to say.

Joel was a bad person. He deserved anything that was coming at him.

He stayed quiet, looked at me before he left.

Good, I didn't even want to be near him. He is the reason I lost my little sister, regardless to what he had or hadn't told the police.
