Chapter 5:

She shut her eyes, she looked as though she was in pain.

"You okay Ally?" I ask, I see her nod immediately, smiling slightly.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Are you? You know you didn't have to meet my mother if you didn't want to" she says.

Ella was so funny, I could clearly see where Ally got her looks from. If Ally and I got together, I'd be a lucky man if she looked like her mother when she was older.

She didn't look well. In fact, she looked pale and weak. I didn't have it in my heart to admit it out loud though. I'm a blunt person, but it would break Ally's heart and I couldn't do that to her.

"I'm fine, and your mother is amazing- just as amazing as you are" I say with a wink.

She smiled, her lips turning up into a pretty smile as she rolled her eyes.

"Are you flirting with me, Nick?" She asked and I smirked. My eyes looking to her before back at the road.

"Yes" I say. She choked before she began spluttering.

"You're so blunt, Nicolas" she grins, my name rolling off of her tongue perfectly.

I smile before I park in a public cafe.

I ordered her a hot chocolate and I got myself a coffee.

"So what do you think about the whole moving in thing? I know it seems like too much to fast but it's just for your safety and your safety only" I say. She sighs, her shoulders slumping.

"I don't know Nick. I don't know what to think. I know it's for my safety but I... I don't know you. I'm so used to being on myself and looking out for myself, I can't change" it sounded like a warning, a promise.

"What are you talking about?" I ask. I understand about the moving in but she isn't alone.

"My mother is going to die soon" I'm about to cut her off but she gives me a weak smile, "don't try to deny it. You saw how sick she is with your own eyes" she hesitates before continuing, "I become a different person when I feel lonely. I don't think you should get too close to me" She lets out.

"You aren't lonely" I say softly, I grab her hand and rub my thumb over to her knuckle. "You don't need to feel that way anymore" Of course I didn't want to scare Ally away, but maybe letting her know she isn't alone anymore would help her and us.

"You don't know what it's like Nick" she sighs and I give her a small, sad smile.

"You're right, I don't know what it's like. But I'm trying" I say honestly, "I don't know what you would act like, I don't know a lot about you Ally but that doesn't mean I won't try to find out about you" I say honestly. She sighs, nodding her head. She reaches over and squeezes my hand, giving me a tight smile.

"Thank you" she says softly as if she was struggling to stay strong.

Her phone rings and she looks down. Once she

sees who is calling, she scowls adorably before picking up.

"What?" She asked harshly. Rolling her eyes when the person said something.

"I don't care Justin. I don't know if you have realised, but I don't like you. Not now, not ever. Please leave me the fuck alone" she looks at me and rolls her eyes when she sees me smirk.

Damn she was feisty.

"No, Justin. You listen to me. There is nothing you can do to make me want to come back to you. Now go fuck your self" she says bluntly making me chuckle. Yeah, she was definitely feisty.

She looked at me and raised her brow, smiling slightly at me.

"Fuck off" she scowls before she hangs up.

"Are you okay?" I ask after she slams her phone onto the table.

"I hate Justin. That was Justin." She crosses her arms over her chest and looked like a kitten trying to be intimidating.

"Yeah, I realised" I say with a small smile. Her lips twitch into a small grin before she begins to speak.

"Want to know what he said? He wants me back. The fucking asshole wants me back. He said he still loved me yet he never told me he did originally. He cheated on me and he wants me back! Ugh" she scoffs, leaning back in her seat and pouts. "I don't even like him!" She whines adorably before looking at me. Her cheeks were flushed, her eyes narrowed in annoyance yet she still looked beautiful.

"He doesn't deserve you" I say softly. She sits up in her seat, nodding.

"You're right, I don't deserve that" she says. I smile, happy she wasn't the kind of girl who believes she deserve so little. She deserved more.

"So what else did you need to say about moving? I'm fine now. See?" She says, pointing to herself when she smiled widely.

I smile, shaking my head at her. Absolutely adorable.

"When do you want to? I know you aren't comfortable and to be honest, neither am I. I don't doubt it wouldn't be fun but I just don't want it to be fast between us, you know?"I say and she smiled with a nod.

"Well when were you thinking?" She asked and I sigh.

"As soon as possible. You know Jace? We tried to take it slow with a girl and she was killed. At least then, I know you will be safe- especially if I'm there" I say honestly.

She takes me by surprise when she nods her head, with a soft, gentle smile.

"Okay" she says.

"You do realise I meant today?" I say in shock. She smiled lightly.

"Yes, Nicolas. I know. Come on" she grins, she grabs my hand and stands up. I smile, standing up and lead her to my car.

I open the door for her and she smiled.

"You're welcome Ally" I smile.

She grabs my hand, intertwining her fingers with mine and smiling softly. I returned the smile before she gives me directions to her place.
