(A/N: hey guys, this chapter continues in Cameron's point of view. Warning! Emotional rollercoaster coming.)

THERE was a moment I remember. The first time I choked. I was about the same age as Riley but she didn't arrive to the warehouse until a year later. It was the first time I saw genuine fear in someone's eyes. The first time I listened to them beg for their lives; beg for forgiveness, beg for mercy.

I was threatened that night. I killed and nearly got killed. The silence was what put me over. There was no blood but the body was enough to make me sick. I'd never seen a dead body before that night. I've only seen incidents where a person was close.

I fought for my life to get out that whole year. They whipped me until I submitted. I couldn't feel a nerve in my back. So, it makes me wonder. How could someone with such a pure heart as Riley love someone like me? I hurt her, but I love her.

I left her, but I couldn't let go. I couldn't get passed...us. For some reason, the universe has a knack for reigniting old, worn out flames. I was still hugging her as she cried silently. I hugged her tightly though I hated seeing her like this; bottling up her emotions.

She tried to pull away but I didn't let her go. "Let's stay like this for a little while longer."

She was quiet, keeping her head at the crook of my neck.

"Why?" I asked her.

"What do you mean?" She replied confused.

"Why do y

d.

"Don't worry about it. I'm investigating something, " I told her honestly.

"Is it about whoever is coming for me?" She asked.

"Yeah, " I revealed.

"Oh, okay. Well, I ordered room service in case you got hungry, " She gave me a small smile.

"Thanks, babe, " I smiled back, opening my arms. "Come here."

She came and sat on my lap. I hugged her knowing she needed it. She responded quickly hugging me back.

"Thanks, " she whispered. "I needed that."

"Anything for you, my love, " I smiled looking into her eyes. I saw it; the sadness.

She was broken inside. She always was. I'm just a piece of her puzzle that isn't going anywhere. I'm going to put her back together even if it means exposing the people around her.

"Cam?" She blurted out.

"Yes, sweetheart, " I answered her.

"Will my puzzled be fixed again?" She asked.

"I don't know, baby, " I started. "There's only way to find out. Let's fix it, together."
