Cameron and I were sparring as Marcus watched amazed.

"Wow, no wonder why you're the two most dangerous people on the planet. You two are amazing. You could beat Ronda and Connor if you wanted to!" He exclaimed.

We laughed though we were out of breath; Cameron helped me up and we grabbed our towels wiping our sweat. Being cute, he kissed the side of my head.

"So, what brings you two back in Cali?" Marcus asked.

"If we told you, you would be a little skeptical, " I told him honestly.

"Riley, I watched you grow up living a double life. What's the meaning of skepticism when it comes to you?" He laughed.

I laughed with him. "That's true."

"Thanks for the gear, Marcus. It's amazing, " Cameron smiled.

"No problem, Cameron, " Marcus began. "Mind if I borrow him for a second, Ry?"

"Sure, " I agreed nonchalantly.

And like thin air, they disappeared.

~Cameron~

"Protect her with everything you got, okay?" Marcus blurted out.

"You know I will, " I vowed.

"You know why I asked to talk to you?" He asked hoping I knew. Truth is, I'm clueless.

"Not really, but why?" I answered honestly.

"To warn you. There's something big going to happen and it end up with the two of you as the last people standing, " he began. "Don't worry about your families, I'll protect them at all costs even if it means my own life gets taken."

"Marcus..., " I started. "Yo

on, but I hate it! I hate this! I hate all of this!" She went into our room; tears falling down her cheeks.

I followed her, closing the door behind us and hugged her tight. I let her cry on my shoulder. This was the first time I saw her crack. The first time I saw her break under pressure. Over the years, she was always the one to seem like she was fine but I knew otherwise.

"I can't do this anymore, " she whispered through the small sobs escaping her.

"You don't have to do this alone, baby. I'm here. I'll fight with you. Remember what I told you before I left back then?" I told her.

"You'll never be alone. I'll wait until I die. When you come back, I'll love you until my last breath, " she recited to me softly. "D-did you really mean that?"

"Of course. Enemy or not, I could never deny you. I could never forget you. I can never let you go, " I whispered in her ear. "I loved you then and I love you now."
