I awoke in the hospital, what they say was three days later. Apparently I was sleep deprived. Seems about right. When I woke up, Asher was here. "Thank god you're alright." He said, sounding relieved.

"Yup, I'm a trooper." I said with a smile. I could only imagine my appearance right now. "Thank you so much, Ash, if you h-hadn't, you know... I probably wouldn't be a-alive right now."

"Shh, I know." He replied with sadness shining in his amber eyes. "I don't want to talk about it right now."

"Is Charles Hollands dead?" I demanded, sitting up immediately, ignoring the pain in my body.

He looked at me, confused. I repeated my question, "Is he dead?" He seemed to snap out of it before nodding. "Are they all dead?" I asked and he continued nodding. I slumped back in the hospital bed.

He saw my relief and sighed, "Trey already explained to me what that was all about." Ash told me. 'What that was all about'? You mean that episode of my life where I got kidnapped by my Trey's brother and father so you tipped the car over? Oh, yeah.

"Is Trey alright?" I asked him worriedly, ignoring his previous statement.

"Just a few broken bones in his right arm and a lot of bruises. Maybe a scar or two." He finished, making me frown.

"A few?" I repeated. He already hates the scars that he has, what will he do with more?

"Like, three." He said casually as I gasped. His nonchalance pissed me off.

"Only three? Wow, that's great as opposed to none?" I said sarcastically, rolling my eyes at Asher.

"Amy, please." He pleaded once more and I grew more irritable by the second.

"Finish your damn sentences!" I cried. It's already been a bad day and this is just making it worse. Waking up in a hospital is not my favourite thing.

He almost glared at me. Almost. He just shot a glance my way instead before looking across the room at the door.

"Amy, please don't argue with me. It's been stressful enough." He said, running a hand down his face. My head was pounding and I wasn't thinking straight.

"It's been stressful for you? I had a bullet in my shoulder!" I exclaimed angrily. Again, not thinking straight.

"You've been asleep for the past three days. How stressful could that have been?" He sneered, looking angrier than I was.

"Asleep? You mean unconscious due to pain?" I asked him disbelievingly. I sat up, feeling pain in my stomach and I grunted.

He sighed. "Look, you have a concussion an

"That's my bed." She pointed over to the one next to Trey's. How convenient.

"Oh. Well, sorry to intrude, I'll just-- uh, go. Continue." I finished awkwardly, trying not to be hurt by the fact that Trey said nothing. I shut the door behind me and somehow managed to make it back to my room before bursting into tears. I cried for who knows how long, wondering how my life went downhill so fast. I wanted to call my friends, but I was afraid. I did in fact have several messages and missed calls, but I couldn't find the courage to reply.

The next day, the door to my room opened harshly. I somewhat found myself hoping that it was Trey, but I had to keep telling myself that I was happy for him. Instead, it was Jade and Layla who entered. "Why won't you return our calls?" Layla asked worriedly as they both rushed to my bedside.

I couldn't help it, I was an emotional wreck. A few tears rolled down my cheeks without my consent. 'What's wrong?" Jade asked me as they both sat at the foot of my bed. I told them everything by the end of it Layla had let out a tear and Jade was frowning intently.

"I would suggest going to a party to fix this, but we didn't end up going last time so I doubt we'll end up going this time."Jade chuckled and I did too, though I was still trying. "I got together with the asian girl. Her name is Ling by the way."

I gave her the biggest smile I could manage and they started talking animatedly about all the things I'd missed while I just laid there, staring off into space. I guess I wasn't meant to be with either of my prince charmings.

Done as a doorknob.
