"Thanks, again." I said, unbuckling my seatbelt and stepping out of the car.

He grabbed my hand before I left and said, "Tell that guy that I'm sorry, will you?"

I gave him a small smile. He didn't know about my complicated friendship with Trey, but I'm glad he thought about the way I might be feeling too. That's why I couldn't be in a relationship with Trey. Being someone's boyfriend isn't just a name. It's more than just a title, contrary to what some people think, it comes with responsibilities. To look after one another, to love one another, to make each other feel happy together. I want a relationship with someone that I can see a future with. I'm not sure I can do that with Trey.

I nodded and he let go of my wrist, driving away. I waited until his car was out of sight to go pound on Trey's door. When no one answered, I walked over to the garage, peaking into the window. His Camaro was surely in there.

I knocked once more, my knuckles turning red as I shivered in the cold. "Trey, open up! Can we talk?" I asked as the first droplet of rain landed on my shoulder. I looked up at the cloudy sky and smiled. Then the door opened, revealing a hoodless and shirtless Trey. his hair was soaking and there was a towel wrapped around his waist. "Seriously? Who opens the door in a towel?"

"Someone who was in the shower." He deadpanned, still holding the door open.

"Oh." Well, I mean, he could've but a shirt on for my sake. I noticed all the scars on his torso, but I drew my eyes back up to his face. "Well

over this, maybe you can steal her away." I stated, looking over at Layla.

"OMG, yes. There's a party at Brian's on Friday, we are so going." Layla squealed, smashing her hands in the table in excitement.

"How'd you get invited to Brian's party?" I questioned through my laughter.

"I have my ways." She said with a mischievous smirk. She leaned back in her chair, examining her nails as Jade smiled at us.

"Thanks guys." Jade said, beaming.

"No problem." I grinned, looking down at my red apple as I took another bite.

"So, are we just going to meet at the party?" Jade asked, seeming more involved in the conversation.

"Yeah." Layla replied while I just shrugged.

"But on the topic of disappointing people, I'm getting tired of Trey and his bullshit." I confessed, putting my apple core on a plastic bag.

"Me too, and it isn't even my life!" Layla commented as we all laughed. Honestly, it's times like this that I'm glad to have friends like Layla and Jade.

Just stop with the walls already!
