Shehryaar punches so hard that he knew that his muscles would be burning and would be sore for the next few days but he didn't care. All he cared about was relieving himself off all of his anger and rage.

It had been five days and she refused to eat anything. After two days, Shehryaar begged her to eat something and swore that he would not add drugs to her meals but she didn't listen. After much persuasion, she agreed to eat only if she made it herself. And Shehryaar realised that he had lost her trust as well.

Slowly, he was losing everything.

He was back to square one. All his effort, drained down.

And that thought fuelled his temper, causing his sore muscles to continue punching, aiming at punching a hole in the hard leather of the bag.

Everyday, things were getting bad.

Because she had ceased the drugs, she became increasingly irritable and fatigued.

Previously she only ignored him, now she refused to even acknowledge him.

Every day he saw her deteriorate. Whenever she saw him, she would lash out on him or just ignore him as if he wasn't even there. He was watching her die slowly.

Every time he looked at Anissa, his heart hurt so much.

Why was he hurting this much?

Is this what love made him? Hurting and pained?

Because that was the only thing that he could understand.

He never knew any kind of love and this love was so destructive. It was only causing him pain.

And every day, he was dying with her. His heart, his dead cold heart, was losing its warmth.

Anissa was awake. After waking up from her frightening nightmares that night, she didn't sleep. She sat in the balcony, basking in the warm glow of the rising sun.

She was glad that Shehryaar wasn't around to pester her. At least now she had some peace.

She leaned her head back and relaxed in her seat.

Unconsciously, her hands went to her stomach and her breath hitched in her throat as her thought process started.

She didn't want to think about it. The only good the drugs were doing to her was that they kept her calm and inhibited her from thinking.

But now, she was back to being depressed.

And a surge of emotions swept through her as her thoughts wandered.

Guilt. Remorse. Regret. Confusion. Anger. Hatred. Affirmation. Determination.

She thought that she wouldn't regret her decision and she forced herself to think that way but occasionally, she couldn't help but think: was it worth it? Risking something so precious for revenge?

For a fleeting moment, her soul cried in the negative while her heart cried in the affirmative.

Besides what's done was done.

If she was fated, no,

ing that you believe in? I did what I did because I thought that it was the right thing to do. I'm only human after all." He claimed.

His words moved something in her. All the memories became fresh in her mind.

"No, " she shook her head, bitter tears brimming in her eyes as she fought against the lump in her throat. "That's where you're wrong. You aren't human. You are not human. A human has compassion and mercy. You don't have any of that." She swallowed hard.

Shehryaar sighed and looked at her. That only aggravated her more.

"Don't give me that look!" She screamed. "Don't you dare make me feel pity for you!"

"What look?" He asserted. Anissa charged forward and clutched his toned pectorals, scratching hard with her nails. Shehryaar made no move to touch her as her eyes screamed at her with fury.

"As if your shameful and guilty about what you did. You can't feel guilt or shame. You just can't." She screeched in disbelief. Shehryaar stared at her, hard and intense. He gently took her knuckles and brought them to his lips, kissing them softly. Anissa paid no heed to the shivers that ran down her spine.

Their eyes remained fixed.

Hazel to grey.

"It's not up to you to decide that because I do feel guilt." He murmured against her knuckles. She snatched her hands away and glared at him.

"No no you don't! If you did feel guilt, then that, " her words got caught in her throat as her tears rolled down her eyes and she looked at the floor.

"What?" He tilted a finger down her chin and hoisted her face up to meet his eyes. "Makes me human?" He queried.

She quivered as she looked away from him.

Shehryaar also didn't bother with much and left her to her thoughts. And he had given her a lot to think about now.
