March ??

As weeks flown by, I find myself satisfied when I'm around with Gabe. He's been a good boyfriend to me; helping me out with my homework from my World Religion course, being considerate, and quite often does give me some reassurance.

Over the past few days, Gabe has been mute about our date to Lakefront. We've decided to go to the movies then head over to Lakefront for our parked car conversation.

Small talk is boring and will never create any sort of bond. I agree that small talk is sometimes necessary but it does get on my nerves. Majority of the time, it feels like I'm forcing myself to talk for the sake of talking.

That is one of the main reasons why we do our parked conversations in LakeFront.

Just the two of us bonding, channeling our emotions to one another by the lake as the stars above shine through the mirror and the river.

Sounds cheesy but I absolutely love it.

At Mel's Diner, I was taking my lunch shift serving food to customers, wiping tables, moping the floor and taking over the register to those who want a To-Go box.

It was about five in the afternoon when I was leaving the diner after my shift. To my car, I checked my phone to see if I had any missed calls or texts from Gabe, which of course, no notifications whatsoever.

"What the hell?"I mumbled.

"Hey, Gabe it's me, Jade. You haven't been texting me back for a few days, and I hope that you're doing okay. Please call me back I really miss you."

Ending up the call, I went to my car and drove my way to my apartment. There, Chelsea was putting on makeup for her date with Josh.

Lately, she seems very happy with him. It was almost like they've been dating for a year even though it's only been a few weeks.

Chelsea strapped her red ankle-strap heels to her feet and walked towards to me.

"What do you think?" She said in a singing tone.

"Loving the red lipstick and of course the white and black plaid jumpsuit."

"Fashion Nova never disappoints me."

I exhaled a giggle. Chelsea scans her hands down on my arms vertically in a soft touch trying to figure out what's going on with me.

"You okay?" She asked. Her brows arched curiously as I was moving my jaw around, making sure that I don't burst out crying.

"Gabe hasn't been talking with me for a few days. I'm worried about him to the point where I really think something bad happened to him."

"I'm so sorry Jay. I'm sure whatever the problem is, he will come around."

"I hope so."

"He will. Just give him some time, it may have to deal with his dad like you said to me. Besides, he's a really good boyfriend to you I'm sure he has a legitimate reason."

"You always find a way to see the brighter side."

"That's my job as your friend. Don't worry it'll be fine. I promise. But, anyways, I should get going talk to you soon!"

After Ch

ing to what Gabe told me. I had a feeling that it would deal with his father. It kills me to see him get hurt without knowing what to do. Gabe is a really good person with a wisdom personality and very passionate about music.

There's no reason for him to be so hurt by his own father.

It was sunset outside and surprisingly a bit chilly too. The weather has been up and down lately over the past couple of days. One day is sunny, another day is cold, and sometimes it's in between.

At Lakefront, I parked near the entrance and begin to walk my way out on the dock. Continually walking, I met up with Gabe who was sitting down next to a canoe, covered up with his hoodie.

Criss-crossing, I slowly took his hoodie off from his head and lightly traced my hand to his face.

He looked so weak not wanting to look at me. All the scratches on his face healed, but, you could tell he was still in pain due to the deep cut on his nose and lips.

"Baby. I'm sorry. I shouldn't be doing that; not telling you what's going on with me."

"Gabe, please don't apologize. I get it. You're so hurt from whatever you had to put up with your dad."

"He did this to me because I missed out on paying my bills at my apartment. He got it for me but told me to keep up with my bills. But, I was so busy with you, school and work, I never had the time."

"Gabe, you have to report this to the police department."

"I can't. My dad is the police. He's part of the detective unit. If I'd snitch he'd ruin me. Trust me."

He looked at me again with sadness in his eyes. "I just want this to be over, " he whispered, shedding a light tear on his face.

He placed his head on my chest sniffing and trembling uncontrollably. I brushed my fingers in his hair and lightly rocked him back and forth, cooling his emotions down.

"It's going to be okay. I promise, " I whispered.

He whispered, "Please stay with me for the night."

"I will."

"I love you."

"I love you too."
