7. The Old & Filthy Restaurant

"Come on, Mimi. Don't be afraid." The voice of Rilianne White soothed over Zheng Mimi's cell phone. The young chef sighed as she stared at the small, almost beat-down restaurant. This was the location of the advertisement. So far, from judging its exterior, it seemed to have been beat down and abandoned... Zheng Mimi didn't know whether or not she was at the correct address or not.

"This is probably a scam." She muttered as she knocked on the dirty restaurant door. "Hello?" She called out hesitantly, "Is there anybody there?" Zheng Mimi slowly opened the door and was surprised to find a somewhat old diner with dust everywhere.

She sneezed and slowly tiptoed inside with the advertisement clutched in her hand. Unsure where to begin, Zheng Mimi struggled to find anyone other than the eerie feeling the dark restaurant held.

Zheng Mimi glanced around and subconsciously felt goosebumps on her arms as this situation reminded her of a particular ghost friend of hers that she didn't even want to name.

A few minutes later, when nobody appeared, Zheng Mimi sighed deeply. It seemed like she was too excited for a new job to the point that she believed in a scam advertisement. With a bitter smile on her face, she turned around to walk out only to be face-to-face with a figure.

Releasing a scream of surprise and horror, Zheng Mimi quickly positioned herse

herited the restaurant, it was always buzzing with new customers and orders were being placed nonstop. But over the years, thanks to Wu Yixing's incompetence in the culinary expertise, the customers had decreased and decreased until the once flourishing restaurant faded into what it was now—absolutely filthy and abandoned.

Wu Yixing felt his eyes glisten in slight tears as he remembered what disasters he brought to the restaurant.

His mother had walked out on him and his father and disappeared when he was younger, so he couldn't ask her to help him learn. His father had passed away along with his grandfather, the only two people in the world that cared for him.

He cleared his throat and faced the beautiful woman, "Can I help you?" He asked nonchalantly.

Zheng Mimi took a deep breath and released her right fist that contained the advertisement. Her eyes sparkled with desperation as she answered, "I need a job..."
