My hands were tightly tied behind my back by what seemed to be the belt I was wearing before. The stagnant, dry air kept getting colder and colder but Ahmed showed no sign of waking up, he just lay on his side with his hands tied up behind his back.

Crawling on my knees, I got close to him and used my right foot to poke him by the side of his chest. He opened his eyes and tried to stand up, only to fall down on his bum due to the effects of the drug.

"Hey, It's me." He didn't listen but shook his head swiftly trying to shake the dizziness away. "Ahmed, it's me!"

He finally looked at me and then at the field around us while trying hard to untie himself.

"What happened?" he asked, his voice low and husky.

"It was the girl." I turned around, pushed my back against his and used my hands to untie him. "She did this to us, and she took the car." Ahmed set himself free, touched his face and proceeded to release me.

Our guns were gone, so were our phones and wallets. My pockets were empty except for the receipt from the rental car agency and a pack of chewing gum. We got on our feet and started walking towards the road, shivering, broken, ashamed, confused, lost, and defeated.

"We can still make it, " I told him.

"You know what?" he said, "I think I've seen that girl before." He paused and put his hands inside his trousers to keep them warm. "I can't remember where, or when, but I know I've seen her f

nd didn't say a word.

"What are your names?"

"Padur Ahmed and Sanjhar Hamza, " we replied.

"Get into the car."

I sat at the front and Ahmed sat at the back. The policeman opened the glove compartment, taking our wallets from it and handing them over to us.

"We found your car. I'll take you to it now."

I looked back at Ahmed, who was lost in thought, looking out the window with his arms crossed. He had a concentrated look and a frown on his face.

I opened my wallet to check its contents, surprisingly everything was still there: the cash, the credit cards, my ID, everything. Neither Amy, the person who found the car nor the policeman had taken anything from it. We drove for about half an hour and took a detour on a smaller dirt road. He parked the car next to a footbridge and lead us to the lake shore where our car was parked.

"The car was open, I found the wallets inside."

"Did you happen to find our phones as well?"
