My guardianship was handed over to Hades after Will left mother dear ran away, and Ariel was taken away by Zeus before I could color his hair red.

I had stayed quiet while he carried me, not wanting him to leave me. He set me down on a soft bed and turned to leave.

My hands automatically grabbed his cloak, halting his steps.

"Don't go, please don't leave me, " My voice quivered.

The memories of him leaving filled my mind, making me numb with loneliness. Sensing his turn, I tightened my grip, waiting for him to pull it free.

"I never lied to you." My eyes welled up. I wiped them off furiously but new ones kept replacing them.

"Yes, I have kept things from you, but so have you and still do." I kept my gaze fixed on the ground.

"But, I don't want you to be angry at me. I don't like it, and I know I am stupid and don't understand things but, can you forg..."

"Sorry." he cut me off.

I looked up, my hands still fisted in his cloak.

"I am sorry that I left you, I believe I overreacted." he paused, a flash of guilt passed through his eyes. "About Thanatos, I didn't think it was my place to tell." his hands reached out to touch my face, only to be pulled back.

"But it seems I have made a bad decision."

Heavy tears ran past my cheeks.

His brows drew together. "Elia." He bend down to my face level but, I covered my face with my free hand.

He easily pried them off, holding my face within his palms securely.

"Are you hurt?"

I burst out laughing which made his brows crease more.

"Nope." I shook my head within the limits of his hold. "I am happy that you are not angry." I smiled through the tears feeling utterly relieved.

His eyes widened a slightly before softening. He flicked my forehead muttering under his breath "Not cute at all."

"I don't want to hide anything from you,

an attack of coughs overcame me. The next instant, I found myself sitting up straight as Hades patted my back soothingly.

"Why is it that, you manage to choke yourself on mere air? Can't you be careful for once?" Though they were harsh words, his tone was tender.

I wanted to pull his cheeks so badly, but the coughs stopped me from doing so. When they finally eased a light bulb suddenly lit up over my head. I motioned him to come closer. "little more."

And when he did, I leaned in to close the gap between us and placed a small kiss on his cheek, the same place he had kissed me.

"Now we are even." I beamed brightly and swiftly turned to fall back onto the bed, immediately burying my face in the pillows.

I squeezed my eyes shut, pretending to have fallen asleep. Hades didn't say anything neither did he move.

After a minute or so I still didn't sense him move, but I had an uncanny feeling of his gaze on the back of my head.

A few seconds later the tension on the bed eased indicating that he had left.

I didn't get up to confirm it as darkness slowly dripped into my consciousness, but I had a prognostication that I was going to regret my decision later.

Prognostication. What a big word.
