?? We're all a little weird, and life's a little weird. And when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it LOVE. -- Dr. Seuss ??

Three months later, "Hey, Mey!" I heard someone called my name and I looked up to find Tyler grinning like a kid on Christmas morning.

I smiled. "Hi." I returned my attention to the thick biology book on my lap and continued where I left off.

"Are you ready?" asked Tyler, referring to the Science National Olympiad which was going to start in three hours. Apparently, he didn't notice how eager I was to turn him into a water goblet just to make him shut up.

"Ready or not, it's coming anyway, " I replied lazily. I didn't even bother to look at him as I tried to copy and paste all of the materials into my brain. There were so many.

One hand suddenly came out of nowhere and was placed on top of the page I was reading. This guy knew no bounds. Unlike him, who was born a genius, some of us still needed to study. "TYLER VINCENT, I SWEAR I AM GOING TO—" My eyes widened as I realized that it wasn't Ty's hand, it was Hunter's.

"Hi, Princess, " greeted him with a wink. He was crouching in front of me. I looked past his shoulder and watched Tyler laughing on the back. That traitor didn't even tell me that Hunter was coming.

My anger melted as a smile appeared on my face. "Hi. What are you doing here?"

He raised his hand and caressed the side of my face. "I want to say that I'm here to support you, " he paused to clear his throat. "But I actually come for the Olympiad. My uncle said he would only agree on taking care of Tay and Jo if I brought him the 1st Place Cup home."

Hunter's uncle was the principal of North High and the most generous person I knew. If it wasn't because of him, Hunter would've dropped out from school and worked as a bartender full time to pay the bills. He let Hunter skipped some classes as long as he kept being top of his class and brought achievements to North High, be it academic or non-academic such as football and tennis.

I held his hand and gave it a little squeeze. "Are you sure you want to join me in Taiwan?"

After graduation, I was going to go to Taiwan to study Mandarin. Even though I grew up with both parents speaking Mandarin, I didn't speak Mandarin at all. I knew a few phrases but that was it, I couldn't speak Mandarin even if it was to save my life.

"Of course I'm sure. This texting relationship isn't enough for me. I want to be able to see and talk to you every day and not just via text or video call."

I couldn't help but giggle. When my dad disapproved of Hunter and I seeing each other, I thought that it was over. There was no way I would go against my parents, even when their reason was a little ridiculous for me.

I recalled that day I had a conversation with my dad after Hunter went home three months ago like it was yesterday.

Dad: "I don't want you to meet him again."

Me: "But why?"

Dad: "Because he doesn't look like a good man and he's not Asian."

Me: "Dad, you're being racist. There are a lot of Asian men who are jerks and there are many Caucasian who are good. Race can't determine someone's character."

A minute of awkward silence.

Dad: "He seems uneducated."

Me: "Oh, believe me, he's very educated. He's even smarter than me."

Dad: "I don't believe that. He doesn't look smart."

Me: "He is smart. Thomas Alva Edison looks stupid but he's a genius."

Dad: "Doesn't change the fact that he doesn't speak Chinese!"

Me: "Dad, I don't speak Chinese either!"

Dad: "But you are a Chinese!"

Me: "Fine. So, you don't want me to meet him?"

Dad: "Yes."

When I explained the matter to Hunter the next day, he surprisingly didn't get angry. He went quiet for a minute before looking at me with a mischievous glint in his eyes. "Your dad told you not to meet me, right?" I nodded. "He didn't say anything about texting or video calling you." And that was what we've been doing these past three months, a lot of texting and video calling.

We haven't met each other until today and I've been missing his touch. I held his hand with both of my hands and looked up at him. "What subject are you in for?"

He took a piece of paper out of the pocket of his hoodie and read, "Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry." He handed me the paper filled with his name and details.

"Why aren't you studying?" My eyes widened in panic. "You should be studying now. I'm only here for biology and I'm already freaking out trying to shove everything into my brain." He simply stared at me with a blank look on his face. "Where are your books?" I asked him.

He shook his head. "I don't bring any."

"How could you not bring any books? How are you going to study now?!" I was nearly losing it. He looked too calm for someone who was going for three subjects.

Hunter raised his hand and scratched the back of his neck. "I don't have any books."

I looked at him as if he just boggart-ed righ

How is it?" I asked her nervously as I watched her chewed the sirloin steak.

Her serious expression made me even more nervous. She swallowed and I quickly handed a glass of water to her. She took a sip and placed the glass on the table. Mey looked up at me and smiled. "It was wonderful. Thank you for the best meal I've ever had."

I felt like a heavy stone were lifted off my shoulders.

Mey was taking a bath when I stood by the bed and looked at the grey sheet. I've promised her dad that I would protect her from harm and be good to her. He also made me promise not to touch her without her consent. That was never my intention so it was easily done. However, we were about to share the same bed tonight. How the fück would I be able to keep my promise if she was laying a few inches away from me? I scratched the back of my neck and grimaced. Tonight wasn't going to be easy.

"Hmm, " I looked down at the king-sized bed. This bed was big enough for us to stay on each side. If I stayed on my the edge, maybe we wouldn't touch and I wouldn't be tempted. I took the bolster and put it in the middle. "Better be safe." I nodded to myself.

"Be safe for what?" asked Mey from behind.

I was about to turn around and tell her not to worry when she suddenly threw her arms around my neck. I hardly had a moment to react before she pressed her tongue to the seam of my lips and, at my grant of access, delved inside my mouth. My arms reached to her hair and tangled around her thick, black hair. She pushed me down until I laid down on the bed with her on top of me.

Mey pulled away and put one hand on the bed beside of my face. She looked down at me and smiled. "Surprise?"

I gulped, completely off-guard. Never in my wildest desire that Mey would turn into a little minx. I bet not even Trelawney could predict what happened tonight. "Princess, " I paused and swallowed hard. It was really difficult to think with her body pressed against mine. "We should stop or else I wouldn't be able to keep my promise to your dad." To be honest, I didn't want to stop, my whole body screaming in protest when I held her and rolled, putting her on the bed beside me. Damn. I guessed I had to take a cold shower tonight.

Mey pouted and moved closer until our foreheads nearly touched. "What promise?"

I cleared my throat and sat up. This was all I could do in order not to grab her and kiss her senseless. "I promise him to keep you safe and not to touch you without your consent."

I heard her cute giggle and my body reacted. Oh for Snape's sake, not now, little buddy!

She sat up next to me and put one hand to cup my face. "But you have my consent, Hunter Jones." Before I could say any word, she pressed her lips against mine, giving little kisses from one corner of my lips to the other. Fück! How am I supposed to resist this?

She ran her fingers down my spine, pulling me closer until there was no space left between us. I could feel the beating of her heart against my chest. I looked into her eyes and asked softly, "Are you sure?"

She answered me with a nod. "I love you. I know you're Lupin to my Tonks and Ron to my Hermione."

I smiled. "I love you too, Princess." I let my hand drifted to her hip. It settled there and pulled her closer. I buried my head in the crook of her neck and inhaled. "Thank you for being you."
