?? There are those occasional nights when you break down and cry because you know things will never be the same

I followed him back to the club, leaving Koltin behind. Boy, did he walk so fast?! I was about to grab the back of his shirt when I heard Jess' scream pierced through the loud music. Apparently, the DJ caught her scream as the volume of the music suddenly dropped to a whisper.

I pushed through the crowd and watched Autumn fell on the floor with white foam coming out of her mouth. "What happened?" Her body kept shaking as her eyeballs rolled back.

"I don't know, " answered Jess, frantically shaking her head as tears rolled down her face. "I don't know. One minute she was okay and the next she fell on the floor."

The crowd circled us as they tried to take a photo using their phones. Seriously?! Someone was dying and all they cared was a picture to be uploaded to their social media platform or probably sold to the press. I felt like taking out my wand and Crucio their ?sses.

"Someone get some milk! Quick!" I heard Tyler shouted to no one in particular. When no one moved, he grabbed Jess and gave her a threatening look as he growled his command once more, "Jess. Milk. NOW!"

Jess nodded and ran towards the bar. "Mey, call 911!" He barked his order with both hands holding Autumn's head and carefully moved her on to his lap. She was still choking and her eyes fluttered rapidly. "Stay with me, Autumn. Stay with me, " he repeatedly said.

I took out my phone and dialed 911. The operator answered in the first tone. "Hey. Could you send an ambulance? My friend just fell on the ground with foam coming out of her mouth. I think she's being poisoned."

"Could you tell us your location please?" said the operator lady. I told her the address of the club and she said the paramedics and cops were on their way.

I watched Jess handed Ty a carton of milk. He quickly twisted the cap and brought it to Autumn's lips when Norma caught his hand to stop him. "I'm not sure you know what you're doing. And I'm not sure I can trust you either, " said Norma, didn't bother to hide the defensive tone in her voice.

Ty shoved her hand away angrily. "I know what I'm doing. Ask Mey if you don't believe me."

Norma looked up at me and I gave her a nod. Unlike my other two friends, I believed in Ty. I knew he loved Autumn more than anything and even though he was working for Villain X, he saved Autumn more than once.

"Let him do what needs to be done, princess, " said a voice behind me. I turned to notice that it was Koltin. He must've followed me inside a while ago. His eyes locked on mine and he looked like he was about to say something yet, in the end, he dropped his eyes and stared at the ground between his feet.

"Autumn, love, I need you to drink this, okay?" said Ty as he carefully moved Autumn to a sitting positi

ing room and all of us stood. We all wanted to hear about her condition so we made a small circle around him as we waited for him to break the news. "She's fine. We found nonylphenol ethoxylate, alkyl benzene sulfonates, potassium hydroxide alkyl sulfates, alkyl ethoxylate sulfates and alkyl ethoxylate sulfates in her stomach. They're the substances that can be found in—"

"Laundry detergent, " said Tyler, finishing the sentence.

The doctor turned and gave him a nod. "Exactly." Then he faced Autumn's dad as he continued, "We've done some endoscopy and bronchoscopy to check if there's any burn in her lungs, airways, esophagus, and stomach. Thankfully, we found nothing serious so far." He smiled. "Good thing she drank a lot of milk; enough to delay the digestion. We, Americans, aren't as high tolerant as European, but we still need to drink as much to overwhelm the enzymes. All she needs now is to rest a few days and get her strength back up. She will be able to leave in two or three days."

We thanked the doctor. We were going to see Autumn but I saw Ty walking towards the exit. "Ty, " I called him. "Are you coming?"

He shook his head. A small frown appeared on his forehead. "No. I have a business I need to take care of."

As I sat cross-legged on my bed with Harry Potter book on my lap, my mind went to what happened earlier tonight. Maybe I was a bad friend because even though Autumn was being poisoned tonight, all I could think of was the hurt look on Hunter's face when he saw me kissing Koltin. In those dark eyes, I could see his heartbreak.

I pursed my lips together to keep myself from falling apart. It was late at night and I didn't want to wake my parents by crying. One drop managed to escape and fall onto one page of the book, I immediately brushed it off. I closed the book and held it close to my chest as I cried in silence. His heart wasn't the only heart that broke tonight.
