?? Your appearance shouldn't define who you are, and that's what I like, the contrast between people looking like the opposite of what they truly are deep inside. -- Matthias Schoenaerts ??

It was like fireworks on the Fourth of July. Her kiss liberated me in an indescribable way. I wouldn't say she tasted like strawberries because there was no sourness in her kiss. I seriously had no idea why people used strawberry to describe a kiss. I read an article somewhere that the balance of sweetness and acidity was very important to the taste of a strawberry and although there was something sweet about the kiss, I still wouldn't say she tasted like strawberries.

There was no possible way to explain how she tasted since it didn't matter anyway. What important was how she made me feel. My heart beat faster than Harry on a new Nimbus broomstick.

I tried my best to hold off my desire and kissed her sweetly and slowly. I felt like this might be her first kiss and I didn't want to scare her. Mey didn't look like the type who wandered around and kissed a lot of boys. The way her lips moved shyly stirred my heart and set me on fire.

"Thank you, " said Mey after we broke our kiss and gasped for air.

"For what?" I asked, hoping she didn't just thank me for kissing her. My voice sounded low and husky. I looked down at the petite Asian girl who made me feel so many emotions all at once; one who could set my whole body on fire and touch my heart at the same time.

Her lips turned into a smile. "For telling me your past."

I smiled, pressing my lips against hers lightly. "Thank you."

Her eyes filled with wonder as she lifted one brow and asked, "For?"

I looked deeply into her eyes as I replied, "For being you."

I was about to close the front door when I heard my mom's voice yelling my full name. "MEY WANG!!"

I walk

to be. The first time they met, with his gaunt, sunken face, waxy skin, yellow teeth, and long, matted hair, even Harry said that Sirius reminded him of what a corpse might look. While Peter Pettigrew looked like someone who wouldn't hurt a fly. But in the end, Peter was the one betrayed James, their best friend. Look can be really deceiving.

If only my mom loved Harry Potter as much as I do, she might understand.

"Ma, you can't judge a book by its cover. He's been through a lot, perhaps that's what makes him rough on the edges but I can assure you that he's really a good person." I knew I couldn't tell my mom about Hunter's past, it wasn't my story to tell but it frustrated me how she judged him by how he looked.

My mom let out a deep sigh. "Are you sure, honey? Because the last thing I want is for you to get hurt." She squeezed my hand.

"I am, Ma, " I knew I was speaking from the bottom of my heart. I knew I just met him a few weeks ago but I was sure he was a good person. "Don't worry, okay?"

She nodded. "If you're really sure then I guess I have to believe you." I hugged her tightly.

As I walked towards the stairs, my mom called me again. "Yeah?"

A small smile appeared on her face. "Bring him home sometime. I'd like to meet him."
