["I have a special guest, please cook something for lunch, we'll be arriving in approximately 20 minutes. Thank you."] He turned to her and winked.

"Where are we going?"

"At my house." She looked at him then back at the road then back again at him.

"What? Why?"

"Because, as my friend, it is your absolute right to know where I live so you'll know where to find me in case you need me. Though I'm sure you won't need to come running to me because I will always go to you at your first call."

"Oh."

"Speechless all of a sudden? Are you nervous? Don't worry, my parents are not there now, they're in Spain visiting my grandparents. But when they arrive next week, please say yes to dinner. They wanted to meet you."

"What? Ahm. . .no, I'm not nervous." Sammy felt lightheaded all of a sudden. Was it because of the turn of events that she's feeling something on her chest?

"I didn't mean to impose on you but I want you to know how serious I am, Sam."

"I know." They remained quiet until they reached the Bel Air area in Los Angeles. The resonant sound of the car's engine as it glides along the road filled their silence.

"We're almost there. Are you hungry? I'm sure you haven't had your breakfast yet."

"You know I don't eat breakfast." He smiled then looked at her.

"You know we both know that it's not true." She pouted her lips and he couldn't help but pinch her nose.

"You're so adorable. Here we are." When they reached a large estate with high wrought iron gates, he pressed a remote and the gates opened. There was a long driveway path leading to the main house. The mansion looked regal and splendid in its cream painted walls and columns. A fountain at the roundabout in front

ed sincerity and adoration while she was still doubtful and hesitant. But as his face slowly lowered to meet hers, and their eyes voluntarily closed, all she could think about was the feel of butterflies in her stomach and the softness of his lips against hers. His kiss was gentle and sweet, teasing her, nipping and gently biting her lower lip, urging her to respond. She tried to resist but her body has a mind of its own. She lost her fight when he angled his head to deepen the kiss, as he held on to and gently caressed the back of her head and the base of her neck. She moaned as she felt his tongue seek entrance to meet hers, probing and tasting her lips. Sam has never been kissed like that in her life. It was full of emotions that were all new to her. No doubt that Rob knew what he's doing, he had lots of practice. As she realized that, she pushed him, turned around and ran away from him. As to which direction, she wasn't sure. All she knows is that she had to distance herself from him, for the sake of her sanity. She needed to rebuild the armor she forged into her heart for the man who slowly entered its reinforced fortress.
