The following morning, when Sammy woke up, Rob already left. She looked at her phone and saw a message from him.

R: Thank you for letting me stay last night. I have to go to practice today. I'll see you later.

The message was sent two hours ago. She must have overslept.

S: Are you feeling better now? You should have stayed and rest. Sorry I slept in.

His reply was instant. It was as if he was staring at his phone and waiting for her to respond to his message.

R: Yeah. I know. I should have and believe me, I wanted to stay but my team needs me. I'm not playing today. Just here at the bench, helping the coach strategize.

S: You didn't answer my question. Are you feeling better?

R: Yes. But I'll feel better when you're here with me.

S: Okay. Please take care.

R: I will, for you.

S: :)

Sammy knew his schedule and the location of his training. He always reports to her wherever he goes. Even though she did not ask that from him, he made sure she was always informed of his whereabouts and whom he was with. She decided, against her better judgment to do something that would change everything.

One hour later, wearing a fitted royal blue turtleneck shirt, light blue jeans and white sneakers with a Lakers cap that Rob gave her three days ago, she stood at the exit of the stadium where Rob's team is having their practice.

S: I'm here outside.

R: Huh?

S: You said you'd feel better if I'm with you. Now, I'm here.

She waited for his reply but what she got was something better. The stadium door opened and Rob was staring at her smiling like he won a lottery. He was breathing heavily. He ran from the court to go to her.

teased him. He sighed then started the engine, gripped the steering wheel, reversed to leave the parking slot and drove towards their destination. He was quiet for a few minutes before he answered her question.

"What if I am? Will you let me?"

"Let you what?"

"Will you let me be jealous?" He fixed his eyes on the road and did not notice her stunned reaction.

"It depends." She felt different. Maybe the lack of food was affecting her sanity.

"Depends on what?" They reached a red light. When he stopped, he looked expectantly at her, waiting for her answer.

"It depends if you'll allow me to get jealous too." The crease on his forehead at her answer made her smile. He's pretty dense for a smart man.

"Huh?" The light turned yellow and then green.

"I'll let you, if you let me." He was still thinking about it until the next traffic light.

"I don't get it." Sammy laughed but just kept quiet and stared at the road ahead.

"Maybe later, when I'm in a good mood, I'll tell you. Let's eat first or you want to eat at the hotel?"

"I have a better idea." He took his phone and dialed a number.
