Silence followed, after all I've told them about our weird encounter with that old lady back at the home-made sweets shop, right before my brother broke it, doubt and conflict evidently glinting in his honey brown irises, as he quietly said, "Still, that doesn't mean anything.

For all we know, that could've been just an old crazy hag, messing with your minds."

"Maybe." Luc commented, trying to sustain Rick's argument, though the look in his steely gray eyes seemed to betray him, bringing to the surface the angst and worry stirring deep within him, making me feel those two negative feelings as well, and before I knew it, the words came out on their own, "You don't truly believe that, do you?"

His silence obviously spoke for him, but before he or I could say anything else, Rick's seriously aggravated tone cut in between us, "You know what? I'm done with this shit. Both of you, stop it right now!

You are MY sister, and if anyone tries again to say otherwise, I'll happily plant a bullet in his, or her fucking skull!" He tried to seem convincing, but I knew better. He was just as scared and confused as I was.

Scared that our whole life together could possibly be a big, nasty lie.

Hours passed by, while I simply laid in my bed, thinking over and over again at everything that happened lately. How some simple words changed our entire way of thinking...How they filled our hearts with fear and doubt...

And most of all, how they left us deeply broken...

What if it is true?

What if our parents lied to us, and maybe we are not really siblings?

No...This can't be true. Maybe it's all just a confusion.

Still, the more I tried to convince myself, the stronger doubt was growing within me, those two refferences towards me echoing in my head.

Abomination child...

"No..." I whispered, feeling hot tears already making their way down my cheeks, quietly sobbing in my pillow.

It felt like the walls around me were trapping me in between them, making it hard for me to even breathe.

I couldn't take it anymore.

"I have to get out of here." I whispered to myself, instantly getting up from the bed, anxiously pacing around the room, before an idea sud

hrugged, giving me a playful smile as well, as he answered, "I don't know...

Maybe your american accent. And beautiful smile."

"Thank you."

I lightly blushed, lowering my gaze for a moment, then looked back at him, noticing how he suddenly stopped himself, just as he was about to push the small glass towards me, and with a hint of doubt in his tone, he asked, "Are you sure you're old enough to drink this?"

I smiled, confidently replying, "Of course I am. I just turned twenty-one last week."

Actually, my birthday was just a few weeks away, and I was turning only twenty, but of course, he didn't need to know that.

In fact, I was actually trying to forget about that myself, because it was a very sensitive subject for me...since my parents lost their lives on the very same day.

"Oh..sorry." He quickly apologised, passing the glass towards me, and I slowly took it, intently brushing my fingers against his in the process.

"It's ok. I know I look younger than my actual age." I winked, giving him another charming smile, then, in one quick movement, I brought the small glass to my lips, taking it down in one big gulp, the strong liquid burning down my throat.

That dazzling smile appeared once again on his handsome, lightly tanned face, and with a daring tone, he said, "I'm Luis. What is your name?"

Heads up! Things getting crazy within the next chapters *wink*
