I had one word to describe my emotions right now. Bored. Yes, I was in a vampire prince's castle, and that vampire prince happened to be my recent boyfriend, and I was utterly and extremely bored out of my mind. Then again, that might have something to do with having two broken ankles and wrists.

I sighed, the bed going up, and then back down with my weight. After a few seconds, I thought Why am I not listening to music? I grabbed my iPod and selected Behind These Hazel Eyes by Kelly Clarkson. She did really well in this song with her high notes.

Here I am, once again

I'm torn into pieces

Can't deny it, can't pretend

Just thought you were the one

Broken up, deep inside

But you won't get to see the tears I cry

Behind these hazel eyes

Bored with my iPod, I decided I could go on YouTube and look up some of All Time Low's new music, my second favorite band. I was just about to call Seth in, but then thought better of it. I didn't need him. I could at least try to do it. If nothing else, I would army crawl.

Just as I was about to roll off the bed, Prince trotted in, saw his bone on the floor, grabbed it, and walked backed out. "Prince?" I called. He stuck his head in the doorway. I patted the bed, praying he would jump up next to me so I wouldn't be so lonely. I could play with my puppy for a while. His tail started wagging. He got a running start, and leaped with every muscle his little body possessed; he barely cleared the edge, but he made it.

"Good boy, " I cooed, scratching behind his ears. He licked my nose, making me laugh.

"Look out, Seth. I think you have some competition, " Cody's unmistakable playful voice teased from the doorway. I glanced over to see that he, along with Cassie on his back, and Seth were watching me amuse myself.

I was suddenly conscious of my pajamas I was still in. I hadn't bothered to change, since I was just going to laze around the house all day. My jammies consisted of a large, baggy gray t-shirt with Tweedy on it, with black, square glasses and a book; there was also a pencil behind her ear. It read 'Smart Chicks RULE!' I had it matched with a pair of black booty shorts. No makeup was on my face, and my hair was its usual frizzy, curly mess.

In contrast to my casual clothes, Cassie was decked out in black skinny jeans and a purple tank top that had a black rose on it. Black rose earrings hung next to her cheeks, and a long silver necklace made out of interlocking hoops hung around her neck down to the middle of her stomach. Her hair was beautifully curled, and a small purple bow held her bangs back. Light eyeliner rimmed her eyes, making them pop.

Cody's tan chest was visible through his thin white t-shirt, and simple blue basketball shorts covered the rest down to his knees. The only thing breaking the solid color were two white stripes down each side and a white Nike symbol in the corner. His blonde hair was flopping in his blue eyes, which were sparkling with happiness.

"Hey! Don't be checking out my man!" Cassie complained. I blushed, narrowing my eyes at her. She laughed. "Check out your own man!" She pointed at Seth. Curiously, I did a quick once over on him.

He hadn't even bothered with a shirt today, like he didn't most days, showing of the smooth planes of his chest and clearly displaying his eight-pack, easily one of the hottest qualities he had in the looks department. Not one of my favorites, but it was hot. I preferred his hair and eyes. Simply khaki capris hung low on his hips, showing off the waistband of his black boxers. His usual black mop of hair slightly shielded his green eyes, just how I liked it. It made him look dangerous and very sexy. Not that I've ever told him that or plan on him figuring it out anytime soon. I thought I was entitled to a couple secrets.

"Nah, I've got her, " Seth replied easily to Cody's jab. I stuck my tongue out at him, then-remembering what had happened in the pool- quickly pulled it back in. He gave me a satisfied smirk, walking in and sitting next to me on the bed. I gave him a smile.

When Cody turned to go, I dramatically exclaimed, "No! Cassie! Don't leave me here in the wraths of these males! Do you want me to die?" Truthfully, it had been a while since Cassie and I had had some time to ourselves. Not that we didn't love Elena, because we did, but still. It's nice to just have some one-on-one time with her.

She played along. "Oh, how awful of me! How could I ever think to throw you to the male species?" she cried, jumping off Cody's back and running to me. Prince jumped down and sat by the doorframe, watching it all happen. "Don't you dare lay a finger on my innocent, little Eva!" She threw her arms around me, mock glaring at Seth.

"Nobody's gonna lay a finger on my Butterfinger Snackerz!" I cried. Wow, I was watching way too much TV. Cassie giggled at my dorkiness. I gave her a goofy smile.

"You think I haven't already?" Seth said evilly, raising one eyebrow perfectly. "Help me, brother Cody."

"Gladly, brother Seth." Cody swooped in and removed Cassie's arms from me, dragging her to the corner.

"No!" I protested.

"Oh, yes, now there is no one to protect you!" Seth laughed evilly, but it was ruined when he choked on his own spit. Cassie and I roared with laughter. While he was laughing, Cody's grip loosened on Cassie's waist, and she was able to come back over to me. We wrapped our arms around each other, silently challenging the two boys to try and separate us.

When he had regained his composure, Seth studied

t for each other, Eva, " he whispered, tucking my head into his chest. "We may both be determined and strong-willed and hard-headed, but that will make us a very successful couple. Once we understand each other, we'll be able to make great decisions in life." I started tracing circles on his bare chest. He did the same to my back; it was very relaxing.

"What kind of house do you want?" I asked. Maybe we did want the same things, but there was only one way to make sure.

"Truthfully, I've never been in any other kind than big ones. I've never been in a small house. You?"

"Definitely a small house. I think you'd like it. Just something that has the necessities, and then just enough room to make it comfortable, but cozy. When you have big houses, it just makes it feel so…big. Like you're not connected to anyone. With a small house, you really rely on each other…"

"Sounds nice, " he sighed.

"You can go back to sleep. I didn't mean to keep you up, " I muttered, embarrassed. He didn't want to stay up and hear me talk all night long! No guy wants that! They're guys: when they need sleep, they need sleep!

"Vampires don't need sleep, " he reminded me. "I've just gotten used to it. It's nice; really relaxing to just lie around for a few hours. What else?"

"Uh, nothing." I refused to think he actually wasn't tired.

"Angel, it's okay. I'm really not tired. I'm just…relaxed. What else did you want to ask me?"

"Uh, nothing too important, " I mumbled. Okay, there were things I wanted to ask him, but, like, engaged people talked about that kind of stuff. Not people who just wanted to get to know each other…

"I'll go inside your head, " he threatened.

"Okay, okay, " I sighed. I mumbled an incoherent question that even I didn't understand.

"What?" he asked. I didn't have to be looking at him to know his eyebrows were furrowed together in that cute way whenever he was confused.

"H-How many ki-kids do you want?" I stuttered, and then hid my blushing face in his chest. He didn't answer for a minute.

"Did you just ask me how many kids I want us to have?" he asked, his voice sounding very awestruck.

"Not necessarily us, but…kind of."

He pulled my head out of my hiding place, planting a sweet, slow kiss on my lips. "As many as you want, " he whispered. "I don't care if it's one or ten or fifty. I will give you as many little Seth's or little Angels as you want." He kissed me again. "God, do you have any idea how much I'm in love with you, Angel?" he said in my ear when he pulled away. "Just the thought of us…starting a family…I can't wait. I'm going to make you the happiest woman alive."

I just nodded in response. How does someone answer when they're told something like that? "Just one condition, " he whispered to me.

"Oh yeah? What's that?"

"I want a baby girl."

"…" I didn't say anything. Truthfully, I just wanted two baby boys and I'd be content.

"Please?" Seth gave me another long, slow, longing kiss. "For me? So I can play the protective father role?" His kiss was very persuasive. "Please?" he said so quietly I almost didn't catch it.

"We'll see, " is all I whispered back.

See? For some reason, I wasn't being myself. I would never talk about stuff like this with Seth. We were in a bet that I wouldn't fall in love with him for Pete's sake! And if I won he would take me back! You don't want to go back. You're happy here my conscious whispered to me. I slapped her (since my conscious is a girl, duh) hard enough to make her pass out. I didn't need my conscious telling me things that weren't true.

I am Eva. I am determined. I will not fall for Seth Marshall Valdez. Even if I'm already halfway there…
