"The visions show the path...the darkness that will come to engulf the world"

*Iah*

A blond-haired girl wearing a horse mask blocked the way to the basement. She held Wanikiya in her arms.

"Wanikiya, " Zelde yelled. "Let him go."

"Tsk. As expected, the weak one doesn't only get caught but used as a hostage for them to use to escape, " Ayawamat said, shaking his head.

"He dies unless if you agree to leave this school, " Kohaku said.

"Fine by me, " Ayawamat said, grinning. He flung webbing at her.

"Stop it!" Zelde yelled.

Kohaku spun around and watched as the webbing covered the entrance to the tower. "Damn, I forgot that one of you was cruel enough to do this. Still. I really will kill him unless if you stop your friend here!"

"Don't count on it, " Hal said. He threw needles at her but they all bounced back. "Metal." He summoned two needles. "Let's see if you can handle this."

Kohaku became completely covered in armor. A white horse manifested on the steps.

"Master, " the creature said as it looked around the cramped space. "What do you need of me?"

Shiori ran in, covering the way back up. He was now wearing black leather armor similar to An's.

A black weasel appeared behind him. "Hehe, need my help? You must be desperate, " the weasel said.

Shiori slapped himself and shook his head. "Shut up Ookaze. Damn, I didn't want to resort to summoning him."

"An unruly familiar huh?" An said as he came downstairs. "I can relate."

"What are you doing?" I asked, turning around.

"Ona and Ning gave me their prana." He looked down at his hands. "I will avenge them for what happened last year."

"Shut up, I'm nothing like you!" Shiori yelled. He touched the weasel and absorbed it. A storm of wind destroyed the upper floors of the tower and sent us flying straight into the forest. His teammates smiled as they watched from above, riding their familiars. For a brief moment, I could swear that we had died.

I looked around at my injured teammates but it was difficult to see with the wind blowing dust at my eyes. I contracted the dust into rocks. I took a step forward and stopped. I couldn't see very clearly, but I thought I saw Hikaru. It seemed as if his eyes were red.

I turned to look at the source of the wicked storm. Finally the wind cleared revealing a white haired child in the center of some boulders.

"No, this is bad, " I said. I put my hands down on the ground and closed my eyes. I felt movement underground. Those still in the basement were fine.

Eien's eyes turned bright red and claws came out of his hands. "Time to get serious. Bow before me you three, for I am Eien Kasai no Ki Zettai, the second prince of Kyuu Seishin and thus your master."

Shiori stopped and bowed as if mind controlled. "Gah, how can your eyes be this strong when you're a half breed?"

Eien moved in front of him in the blink of an eye and kicked him in the gut, sending him flying into the top of the crater. "You like to act all superior yet you come from branches that should know how it feels to be treated as inferior simply due to your birth. You all know that we foxes are seen as superior."

Mayu nodded. "Even I can't deny that, you foxes are the rightful rulers of Kyuu Seishin."

"No, " Miwa said. "That's not true. Our clan and our country had been ruled by rulers from each of the nine branches. In the ancient period we had a weasel queen, in the modern period we have had a cat king, and a fox queen."

Shiori stood up. "That's right, we aren't prisoners to our blood." He cut his thumbs on his sword. The blood rolled down the blade. The sword transforms into red katana. "Armor activate." His black samurai armor covered glowed bright green and yellow. "Come at me, second prince of Kyuu Seishin, no not as the second prince but as Eien Zettai, my cousin."

They're cousins?

Shiori and Eien clashed in the center of the pit making it bigger. The resulting inferno ignited the mountainside.

"You're going to burn down the mountain, " a voice rang down. Behind us was Boukyaku with his team and my own.

"Sorry we're late, but you know what they say about us heroes, " Lei said with a grin.

Yen ran over to him and embraced him. "You're alright!"

Lei smiled. "I am, now let's not allow ourselves to get distracted... Adela almost died because of that."

Adela glared at Shiori.

"Lei, Yen!" H

.." Her familiar vanished.

Alto appeared in front of her. "Where do you think you're going?"

"Terra Draco, " Xue yelled. She shifted part of my earth prison to grab Kohaku. "Help me, Lord Iah."

Lord Iah? I guess she figured out who my father is. I helped her pull Kohaku toward my barrier.

Hal threw needles which melted her armor.

"No, " Kohaku yelled. She shook her head like a madwoman. "I'm not going to that place..."

"Is she having a vision?" Adela said, narrowing her eyes.

"Glacius Draco, " Xue said. She froze the water I had attracted and shaped it into an ice dragon. She had the spell coil around Kohaku.

Kohaku was too caught up in whatever she was seeing to counter.

Miwa meanwhile was helping me reinforce the earth prison around Shiori who was struggling vehemently.

Haroun and Vermeil covered Shiori's prison with metals and stones.

I finished sealing Kohaku in my prison and turned to look at An. "Take them back to the nurse's office."

An touched the prison. "Before I go, there's something odd about all this." He glanced over at the immobile Mayu. "Why did Kohaku wanted to flee? She wasn't losing at the time."

Boukyaku grabbed all of us freshmen, including his brother by using his now visible white tails. "An get them out of here.

"What?" Eien said. "Why?"

"We got to go see how Lei and Nyima are doing."

"Vita and Haroun will help them. Just go, it's too dangerous here."

I sighed and reverted back to normal.

An nodded and we were back in the nurse's office.

"I'll take this, " Lady Zettai said, grabbing the earth prison with Shiori and Kohaku. "You should rest...sadly there aren't enough beds here." With those words she left us alone, pondering what was to come next.

I sat down on one of the beds and closed my bloodshot eyes. "Do you think the others are alright?"

"I hope so. Ning and Ona are still in that forest, with no prana to defend themselves with, " An said weakly. "Maybe we should go back."

"An!" Vermeil yelled. I opened my eyes and saw Vermeil holding an unconscious An.

I rose up from my bed. "We need someone to heal him. Adela..." I glanced around the room. "Wanikiya, Zelde, Xue, An, Hal, Alto, Arima, Vermeil..." I opened the door, looking to see if she had left. "Adela, where is she?"

"She ran off before An finished teleporting, " Hal said with a grin. He scoffed. "If you want, Arima and I can go retrieve her. We are the least injured ones after all."

"You go on ahead, " Arima said, she was treating An with a potion.

Hal nodded. "You want to come too, right?"

I nodded and followed him out.

"Wait, I'm coming with you too, " Ayawamat said. "I am not one who sits down."

"Then come along!" I said, opening the door.
