Fortha and Seanessy traded a final glance and shrugged to each other. "Sounds like a way in to me, " the elf claimed.

About that time, the ladies began arguing amongst each other; dwarves were making and more aggressive passes at them. Fortha offered to rent them a room as a sign of goodwill. Thanking the dwarves for their information, the group squared their tab, marched out to the streets, found a patrolman on horseback, and asked after an elven inn. She gave them the location of a place called The Goodnight Forest, and they thanked her for her time.

Upon reaching the establishment, the elven maidens invited the two adventurers to their room for a chat, but both warriors declined; Seanessy used marriage as his excuse, and Fortha claimed he was staying with a friend. After leaving the girls, the two stumbled back to Lennon's. Drunk and happy, the friends sang songs of Ulvar. Seanessy had to stop repeatedly; he was laughing so hard at Fortha's lack of knowledge regarding the words, he almost fell over.

"I don't know dwarven songs, " the elf argued.

"Ya' should learn 'em, learn a thing or two about strength an' honor!"

"We're here, we're here, " Fortha chuckled and took two steps forwards. He then stumbled a few steps backwards, stuck his arms out to the sides to catch his balance, and finally made it to the door. Turning, and with a finger to pursed to his lips, he shushed the dwarf. "Lights are off. They must be a-sleepy."

"Well, wake 'em up! I'm not standing out here in the dead o' night!"

"Okay, okay, all right, "

atiently and wait, " she replied. "I have a sneaking suspicion that the White Wraiths killed him, I mean, who else would it be, right? It's not like some bookie sent thugs to settle things; they wouldn't kill him with a stiletto like that."

"Then, how would they?" Seanessy interrupted.

"Just not like that, " she growled.

"Would White Wraiths? It seems like an ass-ass-in, " Fortha said before stifling coughing spurts of laughter.

"Boy, you two are stupid, " she grumbled. "Just be quiet, and let's see if anyone else shows up."

"But wait, " Seanessy argued.

"Shut up."

"No, listen, are the others in danger? If who kilt Lennon is after us then aren't we all in danger?" he maintained.

No one said a word, yet they all wondered if that was an accurate assessment of their situation. For moments that felt like eternity, the only sounds audible were whispers of the wind, echoes of far off laughter, and their steady breathing. Seanessy then moved to stand, knocked over a chair, cursed, and started for the door.
