The thief pushed a few errant strands of hair from her face and glanced at Larson. She winced, looked back outside, and gave in to wondering about what they had found, if anything, and how Mathew was going to react. She also considered having killed a cultist, the first person she'd ever killed. Shaking the cobwebs from her brain, she took a big breath. After the break, and as her thoughts died out, she plopped down beside the warrior and fell asleep, laying comfortably against a sack of seeds.

Mathew had arrived late in the afternoon, after everyone woke, ate, and drank to their hearts' content. They had gathered outside to sit beneath the shade of apple trees. The sun was setting. Not much of a wind blew, but it was crisp and chilly. Some bees buzzed in the vicinity. Placing his freshly cleaned spectacles back onto his face, the detective addressed the group; he had a somber look about him.

"In the meantime we may catch our breath then, " Lyalla suggested. "We can rest and regroup." She then turned to Garrett. "It will do us all well to find a moment of happiness in these dark times."

"She's right, " Mathew stated. "Obsessing over these matters will lead to rash decisions." The detective was looking at everyone, but Garrett felt the message was intended for him. He winced, pondering the implications. "You can stay here if you like. Sara has agreed to let you all use her loft as long as you need, or as I've stated countless times, you may stay at my home."

"I learned a while back that it's important to let the mind wander, " Larson sighed. "I've been searching for my family for over five years…I certainly won't stop looking, but, " he trailed off. Then, as the rest looked to him, he added while tugging at some blades of grass, "I'm going to Riverdale to see my girl. Travel and friends goes a long way to strengthen the spirit, lest we fall prey to evil intentions."
