About an hour of moving in silence passed. Some sharp turns took them north then east, and finally, after a handful more turns, their direction was practically discombobulated, but they saw a whitish glow in the distance. Garrett slowed before turning back to look at his crew.

"Not sure if people or just torches in sconces, but there's light up ahead, " he whispered.

"Looks like the glow of those weird crystals, " Larson corrected.

Garrett nodded accordingly. They all congregated together. Fortha mentioned stealth was useless as the glow of their enchanted equipment was easy to spot anyway.

"Thas' fer true, " Seanessy agreed. "We might as well pick up the pace, eh?"

Garrett approved of that, but wasn't in favor of charging in blindly. "We'd best be prepared for a fight if cultists are present."

"They won't just be chatting on a walkway, " Larson said.

"No, " Charlotte whispered. "If they're down here, they'll be in some kind of utility room or on patrol."

"Where are the utility rooms, " Fortha asked.

Charlotte winced and rolled her eyes, but didn't reply. Her less than cheery attitude was overlooked when they heard the distinct sound of laughter.

"Workers, " Garrett remarked.

That brought on a wave of relaxation, and they resumed marching. Moments later, leaving the glow of magick behind a turn they didn't take, they heard the sound of cascading water. Two or three hundred yards in front of them, they saw where the walkway ended; to its left, the water was plummeting

Lyalla shuddered, Garrett shook his head while pinching the bridge of his nose, and Seanessy and Larson smiled at each other.

"A real peach, " the dwarf joked, but started off behind her.

"Might as well, " Larson suggested and followed suit.

"I don't like her, " Lyalla groaned.

Garrett gave the elf a tight lipped smile, touched her elbow, and walked after Larson; the elves took the rear. Shortly after, they found Charlotte standing with her arms crossed before a doorway. There was no door blocking the entrance into a cramped room with bricks in one corner, mortar in another, and masonry tools in yet another.

"Dead end, " she said as they inspected the room's contents. "If the utility rooms are all like this, the White Wraiths won't be in one."

"Where would they be, " Fortha asked.

"How the Hell am I supposed to know that?" Charlotte snapped.

"You're a thief, " Fortha hissed. "You're supposed to know your way through places like this. Don't you hide from guards or whatever?"
