A handful of fluffy, white clouds listed across the blue sky. The bright sun shone down with a heat that was a bit unusual for the time of year. It was a long walk in silence to the barracks. Everyone was covered in perspiration, and the cooler shade of the barracks' interior was a welcome change from the hot outdoors. Upon entering, Ograk ordered the guards separate and imprison the mercenaries. She then turned to Garrett.

"They look for you. I hear they look for Garrett."

"Yes, " he nodded and looked to the right at the far wall. "I don't know them, though. I don't know who they are, or how they know my name…or how they knew I was here. That's why I need to talk to Cormick."

"I talk you first, " Ograk snarled and placed ham-fists on her large hips. "Then, I talk Cormick. Dolf vouch for you. He good man."

Garrett eyed the imposing figure of Dolf. He was gloomy. His dark hair, dark eyes, and light complexion coupled with his height, girth, and calm demeanor made him a fearsome, but gentle giant; gentle until someone pissed him off.

"Whatever you need to ask, go ahead, " Garrett complied.

"Where you from?"

"Port Challette, " he lied.

"What you do here?"

"I'm waiting for my travel partner. We're supposed to meet up in another few days, and travel to Xorinth."

"Where he from?"

"Yer' partner, " Ograk said slowly and curled her top lip away from her large fangs.

"Oh, I uh, Flotsam. He's from Flotsam."

ste any time with pleasantries; she punched him in the face. "Talk!"

"Trent! I'm from Trent, " Cormick blubbered.

Ograk turned to Garrett, who was stoic. "Where Trent?"

"It's a little, farming community far to the west. He's a ways from home."

"How you know Larson and Garrett?" Ograk demanded.

"Learnt their names from that sissy elf, " Cormick admitted, reluctantly.

"Aluham?" Garrett interrupted.

"Yeah. That's his name."

"Did you attack them, too?" Garrett demanded.

"No, bunch a cowards told me everythin' I wanted ta' knows, " Cormick said with a bully's pride.

"And that would be?"

Cormick turned away with a huff. Garrett shrugged; he knew what was coming next. Ograk punched Cormick in the back of the head, grabbed him by the shoulders, forced him back onto the cot while he squirmed then shook him hard enough to make his big head bounce off the stone wall. Once Cormick stopped crying, Ograk asked what he'd learned from the elves.
